ESPN - Daniel Thomas To Play Thursday Night

In all honesty, I think this is a professional courtesy being extended by our HC and GM. Thomas has not played all preseason and this is merely a job interview for his next employer. A chance to prove he is healed and ready to play.

I can't see much more coming from this.

Good point. Baring any injuries, I think Thigpen gets the nod because he is more versatile. Thomas could tear it up tomorrow night, but what does that really tell us when he is playing against guys who are most likely going to get cut anyway. Taking his past production and injury history in to account. Shouldn't we be moving on?

thigpen is only a return man he has almost zero value at anything else except an occasional decent play. He is not a good wide receiver , is not a good runningback.

Dear football fandom morality judges, is it acceptable to root against our own player in this situation?
It doesn't matter anyway. He's toast. Then the cheatriots will sign him for a week for info. But since he's as dumb as a moldy turd, they won't get much.

Dana Thomas going full bust mode tomorrow night. One thing I love about her running style is the shoe string tackle and she still falls backward man. If she makes the 2014 roster someone get Harbaugh on the line for next year...

He'll go to the patriots and score the winning touchdown against us in a week lol

Daniel Thomas as our first or second rb was atrocious. But why all the hatred for him making the roster. Having him as a 4th rb isn't so bad is it? He will rarely play. Who do you all want to take his spot? Darkwa? He had a few good rushes against 5th string players. If Moreno and Miller got hurt, would you rather have Darkwa or Thomas running with Damien Williams. It has to be Thomas no?

I'll duck now...but Im trying to be realistic. I don't like him....Sherman made me hate him more....and he reminds me of all that is bad about Ireland...but he IS a capable 4th running back.

Let's say he makes the roster as the fourth RB....we wouldn't be able to keep 6 receivers, which we should because we're deep....or 4 TE's more than likely. Who would we cut? Gator? D Williams? (wr) Screw that.

Amazing that this is worthy of a thread and has so many responses. I hope DT runs better with his back to the wall because that's exactly how he should feel right now.

I have something even less popular to offer: I HOPE Daniel Thomas sticks around on the final 53 because I still think he's a good running back.

I agree with you, Thomas issues has been with injuries and an atrocious line. I think he will be a significant contributor this year.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. Best laugh I have had all day Dude. Two things never said about Dana Thomas, significant or contributor. 2 things we can all agree on 2nd round bust!

I cannot go along w/ the idea of keeping invisible players like thomas, thigpen and kyle miller. Not one of those guys has done anything in preseason and they all should be gone.

I have learned though that about 95% of the time when teams keep a "huh?" player, it will have something to do with Special Teams.

Seriously? So you advocated to keep Pat White, and were very disappointed when we released Dumbte Culpepper. You must have been so pissed when we got rid of Johnathon Martin...
