ESPN First Take Tidbit

I was just uber impressed that Tannehill was actually using Go-Go to his advantage and changing the cadence and the count at will...dont know if thats Sherman or Philbin...but damn if its one take away from that game I loved that was it

Damn, you know it's bad when someone wants to QB coach to be fired? When was the last time a QB coach was fired during the season? So now we are overvaluing the damn QB coach, the one who has been with Tannehill since day one, and has a lot to do with him being a first round selection.

And just because his the son in law, now all the sudden that's a conversation and he's no longer qualified to do the job. All this stems from losing a few games..

I think you should do some research here. No offense.

I'm still backing Philbin. The man can flat out coach. And I'm still a tannehill supporter. Guy is a stud/raw talent.
However those losses to the Bills and Bucs were killer. I hope this team rallies around the chance to play in the playoffs.

Funny how I keep hearing that statement in reference to the Dolphins.

Ricky Williams saga
Brandon Marshall personality disorder
Ross flying out to talk to Harbaugh while he still has a coach in place
Dave Wannstedt quitting on the team with almost half the season left
Nick Saban saying he's not going to coach Alabama

There are probably more that I can't think of right now.

Huh?

He didnt quit he was forcefully resigned and deservingly so after going 1-8 that season.

Yeah, Dave basically got fired, and Wayne allowed him to resign to save face. Or maybe he realized Wayne wasn't going to fire him and decided to fall on his sword. Either way, the team was 1-7. I don't even see how that's in the same ballpark as this mess.

Of course they were talking about the potential regression of RG III as a lead topic (no doubt because the Cowboys had a bye week). Stephen A. said he heard it from multiple reliable sources that Shanahan wanted to stay at #6 and draft Tannehill. The decision to move up to draft RG III was 100% Snyder's decision.

Also, when Mike & Mike asked Ditka what impressed him about yesterday's games, he said Philbin's ability to keep his team focused and gut out an important win. He elaborated by saying that Philbin knows what he's doing and is not the source of the Dolphins' issues.

Lets put this in context for the people who didnt hear. Ditka was asked about the one thing that stood out in yesterdays games.......and without being prompted, he gave some props to Tanny and Pillibin. Of all games and efforts by other teams, the Dolphins stood out. Its very nice to hear that a highly regarded football mind AND player voluntarily admired the Dolphins for the crap Martin has put this team through and to come out with a win with all this adversity.

We are where a lot of people thought we would be, 5-5, 6-4 or even 4-6. We beat some good teams and lost to a couple bad ones. But honestly, we havent been beat badly by anyone. We could agrue that we were in the Saints game for the first half. We lost a couple games on a missed field goal, a sack or one bone head play. We just need to get it together, finish games, and eliminate turnovers.

Im being optimistic for the rest of the season. We all see glimpses of greatness. I think at any momenet Miller could break a long run, or Tanny and Wallace finally connect for the long ball. I feel like at anytime our defense can sack any QB, and our DB's can come down with that pick. There is so much potential.....we just need to get it together.

Everyone knew it would take time for all the new players to gel. We lost some big pieces to injury and Martin's antics, but I think we are coming together. Now is when teams get hot and I think beating San Diego was the start!!

I missed that, that must have annoyed the Mikes to no end. (Rule #1 on Mike and Mike: When talking about the Dolphins, it must be something disparaging or controversial, but nothing positive please...if you have nothing bad to say about the Dolphins, say nothing at all)
