OK, for every QB that made it after getting beaten up, there are more that did not make it. P Manning also won only one game in his first season in the NFL but he played 4 years in college and did not have the hype that there is today.
I'm not saying that starting Tannehill right away will make him a bust, but it is foolish not to believe that it will increase the chances.
We happen to have a better QB in Matt Moore that can start then the Redskins and Colts have, let's use him.
Troy Aikman won some big games in college. As did P Manning playing in the SEC. Tannehill has yet to win a big game. We had the worse OL last season in protecting the QB. As yet, we have no proof it has improved.
It normally takes more then a year to beat a player down. We hope that we are going to improve but at this point we have no idea.
Once again, people are different, teams are different, fans bases are different and the times are different.
What is the benefit of taking a greater chance of ruining Tannehill when we have a young QB who played well last season in Matt Moore?
If Tannehill wins the job by being so good then I'd have no problem with him playing the first week. What scares me is the FO reacting to the fan base and forcing him to start before he is ready.
