ESPN - Jonathan Martin wants to play again, but not in Miami.

The stuff I've heard about what's likely to be revealed next is going to help Martin more than it hurts him. He stands nothing to lose by waiting for that stuff to come out. There is some damaging stuff out there -- depending on your view of the word "damaging" -- but this next round will be more good than bad for him, imo.

I realize you are being coy for a reason, but it isn't fair to throw red meat out like that.

Obviously he's done in Miami.

But i find it really hard to believe that a team is going to take a guy with a complete lack of mental toughness like Martin. How can his team mates trust him in the locker room when he's a whistle blower like that? The guy could have a melt down at any moment, I wouldn't want him in my locker room.

And is he good enough to even risk bringing him in? This is like a Shawn Andrews type thing, except Andrews was a pro bowl lineman.

The question is, what does he really want in all of this? The only explanation for why this is still going on is money, IMO. Either the Dolphins are being stubborn about cash or Martin is hell-bent on litigation.

In any case, I don't really care what comes out next, since all parties have been pretty much irreparably damaged in my eyes. Jeff Ireland is a dead man walking and Joe Philbin's seat is sitting atop a nuclear fire and only a button labeled 'playoff wins' can stop the radioactive furnace. All that's left is playing out some actual football games and then sweeping up the pieces.

We know Richie and Jonathan won't be back. So why is this being dragged out? Either Martin is pressing to sue, or the Dolphins are being jerkoffs about it.

Those two are not unrelated. If you're Martin and you think what's about to come out is going to help your case, why not wait? The NFL is going to investigate this and then make the results public anyway. If the Dolphins have more to lose, your position can only strengthen.

One thing I found interesting was Mike Garafolo from Fox Sports saying the other day that privately the Martin camp wishes this had never gone public. That's probably true. But now that the toothpaste is out of the tube it seems like they're going to pursue the best course for them, no matter who gets hurt.

Martin wants to play again, but not in Miami. Likely done for the year.

Yawn......

This guy just needs to go back to the kids table.

Edit: Damn, lost the link. Searching....

He really is delusional.

Short of Indy and San Fran, I doubt he has a serious shot of playing football again.

I get that. I didn't demand to know.

It's just gut wrenching as a fan to know more is coming.

Its the drip drip theory, used to destroy your opponent in politics. Being this has turned into a 'cause', its not surprising.

MUCH more is coming. I'm not saying this week will be as topsy turvy as last week, but I feel bad for people at the end of their rope with this story.

I'm going to laugh if my original supposition that this situation was caused by Jeff Ireland and Dawn Aponte playing hardball over money was correct. And then I'm going to cry.

It's certainly possible. The threat of the NFI list -- which apparently the Dolphins were initially inclined to put Martin on -- had to have been a factor is his decision to pursue this course. They absolutely should have put him on injured reserve instead.

Martin wanting to play again is simple. He has to say that. If the situation is proven to show "the work culture" prevented him from having his career. Miami will be on the hook for much more than his present salary. People have been paid out on lost earnings all the way to projected retirement age. It's law not football.

I am sure JM will be a popular guy with his new team after quitting on the Dolphins.

Useless poster is useless, if your going to crap then do it or GTFO, I'm going to make a prediction. This story is far from over, more to come, it might be good or it might be bad but it's coming! Stop with your useless flapping of fingers. If you have info then give it to us or just STFU.

I remember on the Canes board where so many posters even until the last day before sanctions were revealed kept spewing, " you're going to be a lot angrier than happy, this is just the beginning etc. . " and a lot of other cryptic BS. In the end? A slap on the wrist, so either tell us something or stop the BS.

Please correct me if I'm wrong (seriously) but so far what we've heard has been neutralized in context and no assertions of his have been corroborated by first hand witnesses. To the contrary, his teammates in the coaching room and locker room have disputed his claims... so far. What may come out further for sure has the potential to be "damaging" but without the proffer of proof, it's just hearsay. As a counterpunch, what's to stop Richie, or another teammate from asserting that they had to step in to prevent Martin from "Michael Jackson'ing" an underage boy, applying the same standards of "proof" that in reality attaches to Martin's claims without corroboration?

Now if he brings up misconduct in or out of the locker room without tying it into his "bullying" claim for leaving, then it looks like vindictive, sour grapes and as such without substantiation, is suspect or even worse when it comes to reflecting on Martin.
