ESPN Offseason Power Rankings...

They basically just made the power rankings the same as last seasons standings. Pretty gutless. Wow if the Skins finished that bad they would send the Broncos the #4 overall, Wow that would be right up there with the Herchel trade. Worst trade ever.

Yea really went out on a limb they did.
ESPN = Oracle of prediction:lol:

Didn't see this posted... just got done checkin' this out... and...

I tell you what... we've quietly (at least in the media, it seems) had a great offseason. We're getting no respect at all from around the league, and especially not from our good friends over at ESPN.

We're going to surprise some people next year, that's all I'll say. Especially ESPN.

Most media types won't go out on a limb. Look at all the top teams all the playoff teams as they exited the playoffs. They don't look at what's happening. Correct me if I am wrong but, Tampa didn't even make the playoffs the following year after they won the SB an early exit at best. Oakland there opponents didn't either. The Pats may be the only legitimate pick. The Eagles have TO problems and Westbrook not signed how can you pick a team with these problems right now let's face McNabb had a career year due to TO. These preseason picks are bull**** don't sweat it. We will turn a lot of heads this year. Especially if Ricky is half the RB he was just think of what the opposing defenses are thinking. They couldn't stop Ricky with Konrad back there just think Ricky and Ronnie whoever gets the ball the other is a good blocker. With Konrad if it was a running play 90 out of a 100 times Ricky was getting the ball now the opposing teams have to be carefull of both threats. It's awesome. All these Ricky hate posts will go away and everyone will be back on his bandwagon again.

And another thing ABC and ESPN wil be kicking themselves in the a$$ when the FIns are one of the hottest teams in football and you have 2 crappy teams playing because they went on last years ranking. That's bacically what perseason ranking are. That's how they pick there Sunday and Monday night games. Why do you think they have some stinkers like they do. Teams change personal like you change your underware. You can be a 4-12 team one year then a 12-4 team the next it's a lot easier today to do that then 30 years ago. That's why there were more consistant prime time games then today.

Their power ranking is their best guess!?! the top three were easy. The Dolphins will come out fighting this year and move way up the chart quick.

..Baltimore #7...:roflmao: :roflmao:

Why is that funny? Despite their (the analysts') many flaws, I don't see that as far off at all. Baltimore could be an absolute powerhouse this year. Not only are they going to maintain an amazing defense (arguably the best in the league), they've also upgraded their offense with the additions of Mason and Clayton, and the return of healthy Heap, Lewis, and Ogden (all of whom are vital to the offense, and were hurt for a good portion of last year).

So, again, why are you rolling on the floor laughing it up?

I think the ranking is generous! it does not matter what they have done in the offseason until they play some football and prove that they are really any better!

new coach, new scheme, new players, old players back from India and Vermont.............

There is a lot of change in Miami, and from all indication it looks like good change. But until something happens- a pre-season game for instance, don't expect people to take us very highly.

that way we sneak up on em....;)

As much as I think that they did not out on really any "limbs", but Why should they? NO ONE has played any games. No one has even put on the pads yet.

Yes I feel we are a little low, but we have a rookie head coach. Playing Devil's Advocate who knows how good he will or will not be. Most of this MB think he will be awesome, but he has to prove it.

Here's the thing though... according to ESPN, it DOES MATTER what you've done in the offseason. I guess that's what pi**ed me off.

ESPN: A number of teams moved from the last time we ranked them (after Week 17). Despite losing Randy Moss, the Vikings jumped from No. 16 in our final rankings all the way to No. 4. With a number of solid additions on defense (Pat Williams, Fred Smoot, Sam Cowart, Darren Sharper), the Vikings have to be considered the favorites in the NFC North.

Now the Vikings lose Moss, Linehan, and have their HB flying around the country with a prosthetic c**k and dried urine in his suitcase... ok, they added some D, but c'mon.

As pointed out in another thread:

imo we have had the best offseason ever! saban just impresses me more and more everyday i think we have a football god on our hands! i love the way he has delt with the ricky problem and getting boston back for nothing, players want to be here!

1.kevin carter(pro bowl player)
2.keith traylor(big monster to clog the middle for a year or so)
3.matt roth(future pro bowler)
4.vonnie holliday(provides good depth at de or dt)
5.channing crowder( zack's replacement)
6.donnie spragan(solid starter)
7.tavaris tillman?
8.travis daniels(will be a good corner in the future)
9.mario edwards(fills a space)
10.tubucky jones(gives us the speed at safety we have lacked)
11.gus ferotte( a decent back up, could start)
12.heath evans?
13.ronnie brown(best back in the draft)
14.ricky( i think saban had alot to do with him comming back)
15.kay-jay harris( how did this guy not get drafted?)
16.stocker mcdougle(improvement at right tackle)
17.boston(when healthy a top 5 wr in this game)

and saban has a few more to add to this list!
if there has been a better offseason by a team let me know!

best offseason in the nfl= 2005 miami dolphins!

...AND THE VIKINGS MOVE UP 12 SPOTS... AND WE MOVE UP 2 SPOTS!!!???

Not to mention the fact that there should be more mobility at the bottom of the list than at the top. I just think it's a bunch of garbage.

I get that it's just ESPN, and it's a meaningless ranking... and I get that it's the 5,791st time that ESPN has dissed the Dolphins in some way... and I get that the "Power Rankings" are really only there to spark debate, and get people riled up (like me)... but, damn, we should be getting more respect than we are... that's all I'm saying.

How anyone can not agree with me on that is beyond me.
