ESPN or NFL NETWORK for the DRAFT

Wow. I love Mayock, but I've never really watched the NFLN coverage of the draft simply because I've always watched it on ESPN. I'll trust my Dolphins bretheren on this one and make the switch for 2012

I'll actually have both up and running but NFLN has gotten bad with revealing the picks early and I honestly can't stand Deion interviewing guys that just got drafted, though Mayock ****s on McShay and Kiper (though I still like watching Kiper on draft day/night).

nfl network is slop. It's like everyone praises the place in belief that it's necessary to fit into a cutesy clique.

Why be alone when i can be a clone?

Meanwhile, that network produces perhaps one or two hours of competent programming a day. Otherwise it's nothing but garbage reruns of top 10 lists, including during the weeks leading to the draft. It's hard to take the place seriously when they expect you to overlook the lack of effort, and obvious grab toward the almighty dollar. Reruns are pure profit. If anything, nfl network is worse and more lazy now than when it debuted. They must laugh like heck in the back room at the reputation they've managed, while jogging in place and reaching for yet another showing of top 10 raiders.

Watching that network is like attending games at sunlife stadium and failing to recognize that it's a patchwork failure, far inferior to its (league or sport specific) competitors, and an insult to the community, in this case the football-crazed viewers. In my case i can't be disgusted at their inept programming and priorities all year long and then excuse them on draft days. Besides, the graphics are over done, they focus overwhelmingly on the top prospects even more than espn does as opposed to spotlighting lower round guys and potential sleepers, and mayock is nothing special, unless your notion of an ideal scouting report is, "tape...tape...kid...tape...tape...kid...tape...kid...tape...tape...kid...tape."

espn remains the standard. They make a genuine varied effort all year long, with tons of draft-related chatter and programming, including the gruden shows. Their draft coverage is just the right blend of info and entertainment. My only gripe was keyshawn johnson, who blabbed too much and didn't have the ammo. Likewise, steve young used up minutes and was quarterback obsessed, seldom mentioning another position. Now that those guys have been jettisoned or demoted, espn's coverage has returned to prior level. They really should allow kiper and mcshay to joust one-on-one but the heavyweight anchors still prize the draft spotlight.

I recently moved to Philly for school and have been without NFLN for weeks, it was painful. Needless to say I will have NFLN by Thursday at 8. I'm not saying ESPN is terrible but ESPN is terrible.

honestly the more I think about it, I absolutely hate Jason LaCanfora. He's nowhere near as good as Schefter was while with the NFLN. Now I will agree Mayock is a tad overrated in some ways (his love for Robert Ayers and Pat White prime examples), but I feel like the NFLN crew does a better job of A)Not bashing teams for their picks and B)They do analyze the picks and how they will fit. Also love Lombardi, Faulk, and Esien.

Now last year ESPN got a bit better especially with Gruden. Now I wish when we were drafting they didn't have the camera on Mark Ingram the entire time. I think if they keep Polian, and even Tuna, involved with the coverage it will be a bit better.

I like the NFLN coverage of most events, but there is always the fear of having an overdose of their muppet colour "analysts" i.e Sapp, Irvin, Dukes and Evans. However, I will be tuning in to hear Mayock and the more knowledgeable folks on the network. I also hope that the networks hold true to their promise of not tipping off who the next pick is going to be, by having the ***king camera on him as he gets the call.

I watch ESPN. As much as I hate Kiper and McShay, its nice to know that they have at least heard of all the players, especially day 2 and 3 picks. NFL network is entertaining, but I feel they really dont dig past the first round for info on players.

Whichever one I can find a free link to online. I'll be darned if I'm paying a cent for cable TV.

NFL Network. Except when they get off topic when the Dolphins pick!!!!!!!!!!

ESPN for lack of choices. Don't got NFL Network and all the buddies that do are stuck at the office. Damn them and their responsibilities.
