ESPN or NFL NETWORK for the DRAFT

will watch NFL Network without questionl.I think it has much better coverage

I tuned in NFL Network today at about 1:30. Shocking development: They were in the middle of a Top 10 list. Followed by another hour of a Top 10 list. And yet another hour of a Top 10 list.

None of the programs were related to this draft. It was dated garbage like "Draft Steals" and "Heisman Trophy Winners in the NFL."

This is mid afternoon, two days prior to the draft. For reference purposes, a specialized network like Golf Channel goes to "Live at Augusta" early morning on Masters Monday and stays there all week. They would be harassed by loyal viewers if they tried to sneak unrelated dated reruns into the prime slots.

NFL Network is held to ridiculously low standards, as evidenced by threads like this, so they get away with it. If they are showing reruns it should be intriguing programming like positional breakdowns of lower rated players in THIS draft. I've seen much better focus in that regard on CSS than NFL Network.

McShay continues to impress. Skip Bayless tries to walk over everyone in the studio but McShay nonchalantly cuts him off with a quick summary, forcing Bayless to low decibel retreat. McShay is easily the best among the TV draft analysts in terms of knowledge of NFL personnel and team needs in combination with college summaries. I realize it's fashionable to knock McShay, falling into the category of conventional wisdom from two years ago still pathetically clutched today.

Sorry if this had already been answered but I didn't wanna search through 10 pages to find the answer...
Is there any NFL Network coverage on the internet anywhere? I hate ESPN

nfl network will start its predraft coverage at 1 pm on thursday and have 7 hours of prestuff...i'd like to see someone beat that...yeah there will be a lot of filler but for a football junkie like myself its heaven

If I wasn't working the draft this year I would be with my buddies watching on the NFLN for sure. But I definitely am biased since I'm working for the NFL Network Tues-Sat.

I can't stand Boomer but Kiper I can because of how he gets his panties in a bunch when a team makes a pick that doesn't correlate with his "expert" opinion.

It's definitely a fun place to be all week because of the buzz in the building, especially the day of round 1. While I don't get to hang out, relax, and get to watch the show at home (a great alternative) it's one of my favorite shows to work. There's so much emotion in that green room and for some of these guys, it's the biggest day of their lives.

I completely agree that showing the players in the green room BEFORE getting drafted is completely anti-climatic, but in defense of both networks, both shows in the past were fighting for those shots and to be the one showing the players first. So if ESPN has a guy getting a phone call, freaking out, and his family starting to celebrate obviously the NFLN guys will jump on it and vice versa. It;s live TV for crying out loud. Should be interesting to see how it plays out this week. Being at the draft and knowing only a few minutes or seconds before people at home makes no difference to me. It will be better TV to have the viewers waiting until the announcement for the reveal. But I wonder if the talent will be tipped off still like someone was saying before about Boomer knowing the pick and hinting at since he knew something no one else knew.

Congrats, Zatch Gaspafanaski!

NFL network is cool, and i wish i had it b/c i would probably watch it a good amount of the week being that i am a football nutt and dont watch much TV anyway so i usually just have something on in the background.

I think many people are in are just being a little ridiculous though. "schelreth, Bruschi etc suck at what they do" ?? really? i think the exact opposite, and quite frankly - i have seen MANY MORE NFL network "crap" than ESPN "crap" i have seen guys on NFLN botch names like crazy, not know about starters, guys who were cut, signed etc. They are just not really professional journalists.

I think that ESPN "sucks" mainly b/c they cater to whatever is "hot" which actually is more southern biased than you guys would like to admit in some sports. The heat, and the SEC are huge with ESPN, and being a Big East and Celtics, Devils, guy its annoying. but then again, they obsess over the Yankees too. Its really not a "regional" thing - its just whats "hot" they are on their knees for the pats every day since like 03. which is annoying too, and i agree Kiper is weird looking - but,

honestly, ESPN has solid coverage. I like berman, his jokes may be a little played out, but a lot of people like his on air personality, its become ingrained with football and popular culture - it is what it is. I also like gruden and love scehfter.

i will be at a freinds house and will be flipping - esp. b/c NFLN will have the phins war room. My friend is a Jets fan so he doesnt care either way for NFLN. i think both have their merits and their weaker points - but trashing espn and all the people on it in favor of NFLN is pretty silly - esp since the clown Laconfora is ALWAYS spewing straight garbage esp on the phins.

Well, I've been an ESPN watcher all along, but there is definitely more NFLNers than ESPNers here...The thing is, I like Mayock and Davis. But they're about the only guys I like there. There are quite a few I don't like...Sanders, Casserly, Dukes, LaCanfora and Eisen is a pompous azz... Casserly has good intel, but he's hard to listen to....rather condescending in tone. La Canfora is a joke. Sanders is as dis-genuine as they come playing up to his boys rather than getting an interview.

ESPN has quite a few guys that are knowledgeable and yet still interesting to watch... Sheftner, Mort, McShay, Gruden, Hoge (who watches a lot of film) and a few others are good. I can't stand Berman and Jackson has gotten old to watch.

In the past, I've watched ESPN and dvr'd NFLN... because of the war room camera this year being in Davie, I'm gonna switch that around.

As to the production, ESPN beats NFLN out of the water, but has tons more commercial and non-draft stuff as well...you kinda have to live thru it if you want to watch it live...I tried a couple of years ago to start watching an hour into the show so I could ff thru stuff, but found it hard to wait that hour...

Not even close- NFLN. ESPN draft coverage makes me want to kill my TV.
