ESPN: Phins could trade down and get additional 2nd rnd pick from Cincy

I doubt Tannehill will be on the board at pick #17 as James Walker suggests. If he makes it past the Skins at #6, and past the Fins at #8, he definitely wont make it past Seattle at #12.

More reason that this would be smart. We would get two additional picks in a pretty deep draft.

I must be missing something. If we move back from 8 to 17 (swap picks) and pick up a second round pick how does that equal picking up two additional picks? Would'nt we just be picking up a second rounder?

I think the Eagles could also be a trade down partner for us....our 8th for their 15th and 46th.

Cinci is exactly the trade partner I was hoping that Miami would deal with. Forget about an extra pick, they have some decent offensive linemen on that roster that might sweeten a deal, maybe right tackle Anthony Collins.

Cincy has made it clear they do not plan to take a RB in round 1. They said the same thing about a QB in round 1 last year and owned up to it. I dont think this is going to happen. Although I would LOVE to add a 2nd rounder.

As much as I want an elite playmaker, we may not be in the postion to nab one. Trading back is starting to look like a wise decision if possible. We pretty much went from 12 to 28 and picked up a 2nd in 2010 . . . I don't understand where all this "extra first round pick" talk is coming from. 8 to 17 for a 2nd seems reasonable, maybe throw in a day 3 pick as well . . .I mean I understand with it being a top 10 pick it has more value, certainly not the value of 2 first rounders . . . 2 top 21 picks for #8, that ain't happening.

I think at #17, you still have guys like Decastro, Upshaw, Kuechley, Ingram, Poe, Floyd, Perry and Tannehill who could be on the board. Having 2 2nd round picks, you can really address some needs. Fleener could be around, Plenty of solid OLinemen in that 2nd round, Situational pass rushers, playmakers, DLine etc. Also taking Brandon Weeden becomes an easier thing to do.

Bigger question becomes why would Cincy trade with us? Carolina is not taking RB, neither is Buffalo. The only team that "could" take a RB is KC at 11 or maybe a sneaky Jets pick at 16. Cincy could trade with Buffalo and according to the value chart get a 6th rounder from Buffalo in the process.

Here it is guys, the fututre of the Miami Dolphisn right heeeeeawww. Drop Soliai, Langford, pick up Cliff Avril, Matt Flynn free agency, Draft Michael Brockers, peace b****** we off.

give us your two #1's and we trade spots in 2nd and 3rd round. whatever it takes to get those two firsts. more than one way to skin a rat.

but If I were Cincy, I would stay right with what they got. I dont get how teams finally get some nice picks and then trade them away. You can get two impact players at those spots. hands down. not as costly anymore either.

why would anyone want miami to be in the mid range and another 2nd? we know that 2nd is already gnu be a bust as usual for this organization and we know once we hit mid teens its 100% a RT or G miami drafts. Great, one of the most exciting day in sports is the most boring day for fin fans because of this dumb regime.

Your second paragraph is exactly why Cincy isn't/wouldn't give up so much to move up 9 spots. It's not going to happen. No freakin way

No way Cincy gives up both 1st round picks. I wrote in the draft forum on the same topic a week ago that compensation would be more like 17th overall pick and their 2nd and 4th rounder based on the draft value chart. Still I would like to pull the trigger because I keep hearing about how much depth this draft has for key positions that we need to fill.

hmm honestly, i think a trade up at the Bengals position would require them to give up BOTH first rounders. Look at Cleveland-Atlanta last draft. Both teams were picking at similar spots, and Atlanta had to give up pretty much all of last draft, and the 1st rounder this year. I'll settle for both of their 1st's this year, and call it even

Similar spots? Atlanta traded up twice the amount (18 slots) than Cincy would have to (9 slots). And they didn't give up there entire draft last year, they still had a 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th in addition to the #6 pick overall. Plus there was a strong chance Cleveland would have taken Jones at 6 had they not gotten floored with a great deal. Miami more than likely won't take Richardson with the #8 overall, and neither would the 2 teams behind them who both have franchise RB's on their teams . . . it ain't happening man.
