ESPN: Phins could trade down and get additional 2nd rnd pick from Cincy

if there's a chance the jests love richardson, i would be happy to trade down with cincy, just so the jests don't get who they want. i like the idea of number 17 and 21. but we would have to give them more than our number 8. maybe swap places in round two as a previous poster said, or throw in our 4th.

The truth of the matter is that none of us know what teams have in mind right now. I seem to remember the bills taking spiller at 5 when they had huge holes everywhere and lynch and fred jackson under contract. What makes you guys think that trent richardson is falling past 8th?

:lol:

This is why I haven't been around much lately. Too many threads about speculation and bull****.

Noboby at ESPN has a idea of what is going down in the draft. Articles like this are a waste IMO.

I'm all for trading down.....we can't move up and get the QB we want then lets get Flynn and move down to get as many picks as posible and lets go get some weapons.

Ozzy rules!!

Yup cough up the #17 and #21 picks.

I agree, if Miami stays put and Richardson is still there, then both those picks are more then fair. Didn't Atlanta give up two or more picks to get Jones last season.

All this trade back BS. When are people going to understand this team is in need of PLAYMAKERS! Trading back for the sake of doing it, does nothing to satisfy the need for PLAYMAKERS. Trading back is good for teams like the Pats, because they already have key pieces in place to build around.

MIA needs a pass rusher, a RT, a TE and some safety help. Giving away a top 8 pick to only fall back and settle for more Koa Misi's does nothing long term for this team.

if someone awesome is there at 8, take him! if not, traaaaaade back!

Let's take a stud & not trade down for a couple duds!!

We're talent starved ... I notice not many figured out we're sub .500 many recent years for good reason, NO playmakers!!

Take a couple QBs ... 10 years is too long & the other reason we can't win!!

Free Agents won't even want to come here ... hate to burst bubbles!! Let's get some studs & QBs & quit the crazy talk!!

When is the last time the Bengals traded picks away to move up and pay a player more MONEY in the 1st round.................LOL.Some of you must not follow football very much because that's the kind of thing the Bengals NEVER do.

Back to life, back to reality, back to the here now...............We need to stay put at 8 and pick up a STAR, we have all the " good " players we need.

I think this would be ideal IF we could gaurantee Tannehill will be there and they would need to throw in another pick.........3rd or 4th rounder. Richardson is worth it to them.....

I'll take there first rounder #17 and next year's first rounder as well forget the second round pick this year. That gives up ammo to trade up in next years draft and go after Barkely!!!!

this what I am talking about. we need to stockpile picks. I like either scenario to be honest though having two first round picks this year, and our early second. that would fill some holes in a hurry..

does anybody think it would be feasible to trade the 17th, or 21st for a 2nd this year and next years first... it's going to take some ammo to get barkley next year if that is something we truly want to consider.

Based on the value chart, the 8th pick is worth 1,400 points

Bengals own the (pick... value)

17th = 950
21st = 800
53rd = 370 (2nd round)
84th = 170 (3rd round)
116th = 62 (4th round)
148th = 32.2

So it would take more like the 17th, 53rd and 116th to get the better end of the deal... in which I think I would do depending on how many of the DE pass rushers have been taken up to the 8th spot. With and aditional 2nd and 4th we can fill in the RT, saftey, CB and TE needs.

Not to be a dick, but:

950 + 370 + 62 = 1382

1382 < 1400

So, um, by the chart . . . we would NOT be getting the better end of the deal. Is it close enough to consider? Yes. But maths is maths!

There is a saying. First time for everything. But when a team gets to a point where they have alot of their ducks in place and they covet a certain player to put them over the top so to speak, then they go for it. Like Julio Jones last year. But we see how that worked out. They looked lost vs. Giants.

With Irelands track record in the second round i cant believe people like this idea!

Irelands track record in the second round is skeptical thats for sure.. so much talent in the top half of the 2nd round though, I would almost think it's foolproof. there will be lots of needs we can fill with two picks in that round.

I wouldn't put it past ireland to prove me wrong though...
