Espn Says We Are Last...but So Does Vegas

I'm confused on the problem here? There is a zero percent chance Miami wins the superbowl next year. Zero.

The win total on us is 7 wins? That means they don't expect us to finish last, just the most unlikely to win the Superbowl - I see nothing wrong with that.

The win total Vegas has down is usually within 1-2 games for probably 30 out of 32 teams. This isn't a 12-4 team. With that in mind, I see nothing wrong with them predicting us at 7 wins and unlikely to win the Superbowl. ESPN or "rankings" are just talking points for people looking for empty entertainment. Carry on.

The Dolphins will win between 9 and 13 games in 2018. They have more than a 0% chance to win the Super Bowl. They will definitely win more than 7 games in 2018 so I would take the over there. Vegas failed last season when they had the Eagles at 60-1 to win the Super Bowl. They will fall again in 2018.

Carry on.

Vegas didn't fail on anything last year. For the few people that that they paid out for picking Eagles anywhere from 60-1 to 5-1 they had thousands that picked the Patriots, Packers and Steelers and they kept their money. They made their money.

Sure they made their money. They always do that's why they are still in business. That doesn't change the fact that their odds for the eventual Super bowl 52 winner were still way off. Some people in this thread seem to think Vegas is great at "predicting" the correct Super Bowl winner and correct number of wins for all 32 teams. When in fact Vegas is usually several wins off when it comes to the win totals of most teams. Vegas makes their money but they are not a good gauge for predicting the final NFL Standings like some want to believe. That is the big fail here when people believe they are what they are not.

Vegas has us at Dead last with 7 wins? So they think there won't be a team who gets less than 7 wins. That's mathematically impossible to happen unless every team in the league goes about 7-9, 8-8, or 9-7
Folks were up in arms over ESPN's power rankings, but Vegas's super bowl odds put miami tied for dead last...5dimes 2018 projected win total for Miami is better, but has us at 7 games.

I've never bet on sports before but this is pretty tempting....national media overestimating the talent we gave up and underestimating the a) value of tannehill b) a better o-line c) the smart FA additions in Wilson and Amendola d) Drake vs Ajayi.

To me, the only way we get 6 or less wins is if Tannehill goes down again---the NFL recovery rate for QB's with ACL injuries is 90%.

FWIW the only other time I almost put money down was Mayweather vs. Mcgregor...at one point would've almost doubled my money lol
