Miami Dolphins: Nick Saban walked off the field following his first practice as coach and mounted a foot-high podium to address a media throng.

"I need all the help I can get," Saban said.

The new coach may have been referring to his modest height, or to the state of the Dolphins. He inherited a team that went 4-12 last season, and Saban eagerly welcomed the 51 newcomers who began a three-day rookie mini-camp

Where did u hear this?
Read the title of the thread.. ESPN!.. Go to their Minicamp section and it has a little paragraph or so on some of the teams.. ours is on the last page or two ... it says more than I posted, and I usually don't get caught up in what they or anyone else says about our team, but, it was uneccesary for them to write that, just report the news, leave your opinion of why Nick said "I need all the help I can get" to others.. just report the information we want to read about..

I knew it was ESPN i meant on t.v. or online sorry i didn't specify.

Wow, didn't notice that the first time. I should have payed attention to the name of the writer. I know Wine is a Miami Based AP Writer. Wow, well like I said, I don't usually get into this stuff usually, but, I felt that comment was a little low blow at the Dolphins. I will admit it's true, we do, and Nick does need all the help we can get to improve from last year, I just don't see the point of saying that in the article.. Just report the info from training camp and keep your little comments out of it ya know?

no surprise. ESPN is always heavily biased against the Fins. They are the NE Patriots/Barry Bonds network, so what do you expect

Even the joke about his height isn't out of line or to be taken as a swipe. Reporters always tease Roy Williams about looking like Droopie the Dog from Looney Toons. That doesn't mean they don't respect him as a coach or that they are swiping at the Tar Heels. It's entertainment value. I hate the mentality that fans from just about every team have that the media is out to get them. No, the media is not out to get anyone, it is out to sell papers or attract viewers. If that means mocking people and/or teams they'll do it. So what?

all these reporters act like they're the smartest ones in the room so its no surprise about the comment. but...it was a quote so i cant get too crazy
