Every Tannehill dropback from week 2

I will willingly admit his play speed has improved this season and he's working quicker from 1 to 2 to 3 or checkdown etc. I'm almost done with the end of the 1st quarter and will post a play by play report on Tannehill. Would rather post all at once.

just be fair about it...that's all i ask...i'm not sure what your bench mark for comparison will be but give it to me straight...i will check it against what i have tonight...or as soon as i have time...cause i'm very interested

there's things like subtle lateral steps in the pocket that tannehill does not do...it's not a part of his game right now...nor has it been for 3 years now...whereas guys like rodgers and luck that is a part of their game...i'd like to see some development there...but if anyone wants to tell me the decision making and timing on throws as far as when the ball comes out relative to routes being run is not good enough take a hike

That's in my report. He tends to drift at times rather than slide/shuffle and reset his feet. One thing I have always liked about Tannehill is he never drops his eye level under pressure, unless for a second to avoid a rusher like all QB's do, and then he is quick to get them back up. I have no bias. I want him to succeed but yet I don't see the game through aqua and orange glasses. I'm not saying you do. And I mentioned in my previous post he's doing a much better job than in previous years of working through his progressions quicker and getting the ball out of his hands. I'm about to get back to the cut up and finish. But I think the biggest issue between mine and your opinion of the QB is of potential/ceiling. Yes he only started 19 games in college. Yes he is only a 3rd year qb, 2 games into his season. But I see the same issues again and again (I will most definitely touch on those once I am finished). I don't see him getting that much better. As far as overall physical skillset I have no doubt that is the makeup of a top 10 QB. You won't hear any arguments from me about the size, athlete, arm strength, footwork at all. I will return once I am done and post my report. Thanks.

no argument from me on that...look forward to it...thanks

This is my first timing viewing the tape. Did not see game live. So far I don't see why some on FH had their panties in a bunch. However, I don't see PFF #3 overall QB either. Still in 3rd quarter.

We can't analyze his pocket presence from this tape because there was no pocket.

Nearly every snap I saw our O-line getting mauled. On the few times he actually had time, Tanny had to throw the ball into tight coverage.

We lost to a very good Bills defense. They whooped us in the trenches and their DBs did a good job covering our receivers.

Without Knowshon we were one dimensional. The Bills could afford to keep their secondary focused on our receivers or blitz. (which we did a horrible job of picking up) 4 wide and no one in the backfield against an aggressive defense is trouble. I'd like to see Tanny audible when (or if) he sees unaccounted for pass rushers.

comes down to execution of a few things and guys making plays for him...i know you can appreciate what he did on that tight red zone td from a id where the free urusher will come and a footwork aspect to give him the space to get the throw off...never mind the placement which is about the only place you can throw that route to mike wallace

Don't want to spoil it all. But where I am at in the tape, ball placement and play speed is much better. Biggest critiques are his pocket movement, his ball carrying position (1 hand on fball), and his low delivery point which hinders his deep ball accuracy and leads to batted passes.

How did he miss Gibson so bad?

By the way, why did Joe take the penalty on Gibson's catch (in which he did not look like he was touched) instead of the yards gained?

Confused.

yeah but on those batted balls off the read option those lbs are coming forward and after they see it is not a run jumping in the throwing lane...not sure what you can do about that...and i guess you see how much traffic he has in his face on 3 step drops even

Yeah I saw that as well. My only idea would be if they thought Gibson didn't catch it cleanly

pretty sure he took the yards not the penalty...and i heard a official while miami players were yelling at them say on the tv even a whistle blew...you can't challenge that

as for the miss on the pivot yeah we needed him to hit it...it happens...had he placed it right i think gibby walks in...

Thus far I have seen 3. 2 of which are on him for his delivery point and inability to find a throwing lane. The other he is going to set up a screen and Manny Lawson just does a good job of getting into the throwing lane and getting his hand up.

i'm not sure if its the same one but there was a throwing lane on the ones i saw til the lb came up and jumped straight in the air and filled it...anyways i agree got to find a lane i'm just not sure what he could have done on that in breaking wallace one

i saw another off 3 step drop i think a dlineman got it...if i recall correctly

the screen was set up for massive yardage had a convoy in front...lawson just made a great play imo
