Every Tannehill dropback from week 2

With all due respect....your post assumes Ryan Tannehill Is done developing, I don't believe he is.

Anymore than Drew Brees was after his 2nd and even after his 3rd year.

You can call it excuses all you want....but it is an undeniable fact that we have a new system this year.... with a new O-line......and a New QB guru trying to fix what needs fixing.

How about a little patience?

Wisdom.

This is what stood out for me in the Buffalo game. I quickly watched the coaches film on NFL Rewind last night. My biggest take away is that we were out coached just as much as we were out executed. The Bills defense seemed to be waiting for many of the plays that were called.

I was thinking the same thing. Are we just bad at the screen game or were they on to us?!?

anyone notice how our center turns his head all the way to the left right before he snaps the ball in shotgun? is cadence still an issue?? the bills had our cadence down last season, looks like they still do.

We can't analyze his pocket presence from this tape because there was no pocket.

Nearly every snap I saw our O-line getting mauled. On the few times he actually had time, Tanny had to throw the ball into tight coverage.

We lost to a very good Bills defense. They whooped us in the trenches and their DBs did a good job covering our receivers.

Without Knowshon we were one dimensional. The Bills could afford to keep their secondary focused on our receivers or blitz. (which we did a horrible job of picking up) 4 wide and no one in the backfield against an aggressive defense is trouble. I'd like to see Tanny audible when (or if) he sees unaccounted for pass rushers.

The Bills blitzed a grand total of 8 times in 59 dropbacks. Only 1 of those was more than 1 extra guy coming. That's a bad look going forward for the O-line

I don't think he is completely done developing. But I would temper my expectations if you think he will develop as much as Drew Brees. He's the most accurate QB in the league and throws for 5,000 yards every year. Plus Bill Lazor is no Sean Payton either.

Perhaps...and granted...it could go either way.

But the point is...San Diego had effectively given up on Drew Brees when they used a high 1st rounder to get Phillip Rivers...this was after 3 years of Drew Brees.

So....no one knew after 3 years that Drew Brees would go on to do what he did...no more than we know what Tannehill will accomplish.

What about all the QB's who didn't amount to anything after year 3?

You're the German guy in this discussion. And I know what I'm talking about, I am German. We never seem to be satisfied with anything, complain about the silliest poop and see the glass rather half empty. My impression of Americans has always been that they're more the glass half full guys but it's starting to change.

And one more thing: if there are QBs who became great after their third year and QBs who didn't, at least there's hope. You know what Andy Dufresne said about hope, do you?

Franchise QB or not. They must draft another QB high or late doesn't matter. I think they will.

I don't hitch my wagon to the hope train. Dolphins fans should know better by now and your whole "German" nonsense doesn't explain my question.

Blue is pointing to Brees as the DEFINITIVE reason Tanny needs more time. It's a surface example with absolutely no relation to Tanny's situation other than being cherry picked because it sounds good. Their games aren't even remotely similar.

Perhaps you should look up the meaning of the word definitive, re-read his statement and come back when you have a better understanding of the definition. There is absolutely nothing in his post that parallels Brees and Tannehill in a definitive manner.

You really are drawing similarities with your avatar, yelling through a traffic cone believing everything you say is fact and immune from debate but you just look like a fool in a track suit taking coaching soccer too seriously.

Credit goes to a fellow named Mainge on The Phins forum for putting this together.

As for someone who didn't get a chance to watch the game live (I live in Boston, so you know how that goes)... I was eager to see Tannehill's performance with my own eyes since I've seen so much outrage on the website at how he played. I don't think he played as badly as most made it out to be, but man... he didn't look too good either. I will say the three things that played a major factor were Buffalo's Defense (as a whole, not just the D-line. The defenders on the back end were quick and swarming to the ball), That crowd (We all know Ralph Wilson's home is a tough place to play ,especially for us) and there were way too many drops. I think we come out a lot stronger against the Chiefs than we did against our division foes. Game 1 showed what we were capable of when we face adversity and fight to the end.... Game 2 was a wake up call letting us know that we can't start out like crap and expect to make a comeback every time.

Every game in a season has its own story within the major plot line that is the journey of a team throughout the season. Last season was a rollercoaster ride, albeit for the wrong reasons. This season so far has the makings of a rollercoaster ride for reasons that we might feel are even worse than last year.

Let's see what Game 3 has in store for us.

did you actually asked him if you can post this here ? i will ask him if you did, this is not the first time that someone stole the work of another poster, at least you gave him the credit, but without his permission its still not the same
