Every Tannehill Dropback vs Kansas City

Wasnt as bad as people were making him out to be. I counted 6 drops by receivers. He does need to use his legs more and run though i will admit that.

He was serviceable until the latter part of the second half where his play went into the tank.

Every time I watch these videos of his dropbacks I keep arriving at the same thing we knew when he came out of college. He excels throwing to the sidelines and outside hashes, but that's it. He doesn't see the short-intermediate middle area of the field very well and for an athletic guy it's crazy how low his escapability factor has been. There's a sack on that video around the 4:25 mark where he just flat out freezes up.

For all the amazing physical attributes, there's something instinctual missing from his game.

poor play in the 4th quarter for sure...6 bad plays by the qb in that quarter alone

Don't feel like wasting 1-2 hours of my time breaking down this cut up. It's Always Sunny is on anyway

The play calling was far worse than the QB play in that game. Overall I thought Tannehill played excellent in the first half, in the second half he pretty much sucked, but boy his wrs sure don't do him any favors. Wallace was the only one doing a damn thing as a wr. At some point we are going to face the fact that we have Wallace and then a bunch of slow 3rd-4th option wrs with suspect hands.

LMAO, Excellent? you would be hard pressed to find RT playing excellent on two drives this year... he clearly has not played excellent for any half this yr....

That was tough to watch, but the line sure didn't help buy Tanne any time and when he did make good throws, they get dropped.
That part seems so odd....why so many drops?

I do agree, though, when the pocket collapses, Tanne doesn't seem to escape very well anymore.

Same story, different year with this kid. On the plus side he is tough as hell, has a cannon arm that allows him to put short, to intermediate passes in small windows. On the con side, no touch with the deep ball or fade patterns, holds on to the ball too long, poor ability to extend plays, (doesn't feel his way in the pocket, doesn't run when has the opportunity), suffers with accuracy and ball placement. He is what he is, don't see it changing much....regrettably!

Glad this vid was posted cause now you can see that the problem isn't Tannehill!

The problem IMO is the result of several problems. All the RT criticisms are valid as far as his lack of pocket awareness, focusing too much on Wallace while ignoring open receivers, holding on to the ball too long, not scrambling when he can, etc. Also the coaches aren't helping him much by not putting him his area of strength which is an up tempo offense (even though we keep getting fed this from the coaches), and also the receivers are getting open and when they do it's 50/50 they catch the ball. Wallace is the only one who consistently gets open other than a RB who runs out of the backfield. Our receivers have got to get better. Finally, the OL needs to block better there's no other way to say it.

There's a lot to get fixed and the most glaring aspect that doesn't get touched on as often as it probably should is that everyone is learning a new offense. This won't get fixed quickly. We will probably see flashes like last year when we see good games but ultimately probably finish 8-8 which means Philbin will get fired and we start the entire process all over again

Drops often times can be a mental thing, particularly when players are "checking out" during games. That's why it is important to have a leader back there to stay on these guys, not to mention distribute the ball around.

If Tannehill maintained and was consistent where he was delivering balls, I'd like to think the WR play would come around. Itherwise you get what we saw in a good portion of the second half - Tanny regressing. He seriously couldn't hit the broad side of a barn when we were still within 12pts at 27-15.

Ha, ha, Tannehill is responsible for the mental lapses of the receivers....

Damn, if he were a better QB, we wouldn't have a missed FG, punt block, long returns, or missed tackles either.

damn you TANNEHILL!!!

blame can be spread all around, but as a qb, and rightfully so I might add, you will be the most responsible. you touch the ball more times than anyone else in the game, by a long shot. period.
