FA Middleton signs

Great news boys. Aside from his huge frame, the guy has played on several championship caliber football teams. This has to be writing on the wall for Mckinney, who likely has seen his last days as the teams starting center.

Now Middleton, Cook, Mckinney and St Clair will all have to fight it out for the starting LG spt. As long as FM is healthy, I dont see why, at the very least, he wouldnt be thrown into the mix to start for the starting LG spot.

maybe I'm misreading this but don't you mean RG?

I believe Jeno our starting LG

I think you meant the RG spot... Because Jeno James is better than all those guys IMO...

Nasty

Jeno is a bad ***..but for some reason (Wise?) the entire lined played horrible last year and underachieved. Jeno was highly sought after putting together a few good seasons in Carolina. I think Houck can bring out the best in him again.

What about A-frame (Alonzo Ephraim)?

saban is happy with hadnot sowhy sign a guard? in my opinion Ephraim is just a backup!
hadnot played center in college which means that he will play center if saban lines up the 5 best linemen! Carey, James, Hadnot, Middleton, McDougal!

Becasue Saban and Houck finally realized that McKinney and Whitley are $h!!!y linemen. The writings on the wall for everyone to see, McKinney and Whitley will both get cut. They brought in Alonzo Ephraim and Frank Middleton to compete against these guys and eventually beat them out. Whitley will be gone after they see how bad he plays in the HOF game and McKinney will last to the final cut and get released. Think about it, Ephraim is a center and Middleton is a guard, McKinney is a center and Whitley is a guard and they both looked horrible in camp. I'm lovin' it, finally these guys are toast  .

The o-line depth is starting to look alot better. :)

I was just reading on the Raider's web site that Middleton was released because he failed a physical. Does anybody know any more info on this?

He tore his right quadriceps muscle during the 2003 season and had to restructure his contract to stay with the Raiders. He then tore his left quadriceps muscle last October when one of his linemates blocked a Saints defender into him and he fell awkwardly. The Raiders gave him a physical at the start of the free agency period, he flunked, and the Raiders cut him. Presumably teams waited to sign him until they could make sure his rehab was complete.

Bottom line: Frank Middleton has been a starter in the NFL since his second season. Assuming he is healthy, he at least improves the depth of our line and I believe he will wind up starting for us.

Great signing!! People around the league knock our O-line, and think it will be the same piece of crap it was last year. I believe that the line will be a huge upgrade this year. B/c of that I honestly believe that the Dolphins can have a 10 win season. If Feely had a decent line last year we would of won some more games, and maybe not look like fools for trading a 2nd round pick for him. Houck might be the best thing that has happened to this team in a while. For the record I hate Seth!

There was a lot written about us not doing much other than signing Houck but the reality is we could easily have 4 new starters.
