Farmer out as GM candidate

List of people to say thanks, but no thanks to the Dolphins: Eric DeCosta. Tom Gamble. George Paton. Scot McCloughan. And now Ray Farmer.

He didn't count Jason Licht, which would be six.

#Brown CEO Joe Banner said asst GM Ray Farmer is remaining with the Browns. Was a finalist for Miami GM.

Okay, so Farmer is out.

Marc Ross? I wonder if we didn't keep pursuing or he said no thanks. Also, who knows if there were others that we never heard of. I just hope whoever it is, they make us forget about this silly fiasco by having great success. Hey a boy can dream!

Much of this mess was easy to predict early on.

I don't know. The Bucs and Dolphins were interested, and NY press was reporting that he was actually a finalist for the Bucs job before Licht got in. At some point Ross decided to stay in New York, at least for one more year. So we might have a shot at him next year when and if this whole thing blows up. I really liked him.

Well, I guess it is basically confirmed...when you force an incompetent coach and a wedge-driving cap specialist on prospective GM candidates, they don't find it enticing.

This franchise is a disaster.

Can you blame him? Why would an up and coming gm take a job where he is essentially neutered? This is why we should of cleaned house completely. Once Philbin fails, we will be going through this process again next year. Any viable GM or coach wants full power to build a franchise and should. Ross has no business owning a team. Farmer was the guy!

Ross needs a czar and allow him to do whatever.

That is exactly the structure that was in place when Bill Parcells was in Miami and look at the mess that he left. That structure is no guarantee to be successful. In fact you can argue that if you do not have the right guy installed as your "czar" he could do more damage than if you have an organization with split duties. One man having so much power can be dangerous.

Perhaps Mr Ross should check his ego at the door and stop thinking he can eliminate anyone before he actually gets someone to accept the position. I'm so disappointed in him as an owner, we weren't a model franchise before but we have fallen off a cliff since this clown bought the team.

Apples to oranges

Should have kept Ireland

Look ,, it dosent matter who and when we get our next GM , Theres Noway that The next GM can Draft any worse than what Ireland , he was just pitiful , this past year we didnt have not one starter , and we had some good spots that we picked in , Not even the top 3 picks (1 in the first #3 overall and 2 2nd rd picks ) and nothing , notta not even one starter out of those picks , hopefully one (1) out of our top 3 picks this past draft we step up and be a starter , but i just cant see our new GM whoever it may be , can do any worse ...

Oh, you must not have seen the handiwork of the several GMs that preceded Ireland then... Ireland drafted better than every GM we've had since Jimmy Johnson. That's the sad truth... It CAN get worse, we've seen it.
