Why havent we heard any rumors of Philbin getting canned? Where the hell is Steven Ross? He knows the fans are pissed yet says nothing? Where the hell is my idol Dan Marino? He cant be sitting there enjoying this **** show. We've now wasted over a year of this Epic Failbin era....he shoulda been gone early last year. This once glorious storied franchise reduced to a laughingstock of The NFL by Cam Cameron 2.0 yet not even a whisper. They were laughing about the timeouts on NBC last night. So sick of the sit on your hands approach this team has become.
Im actually in shock. As a fan for 42 years Ive seen the good times....believe it or not we were once the winningest franchise in pro sports! Oh woe is me I will pop my own bottle of champagne when Failbin is canned this is torture. The team has a decent roster and is being totally undermined by an incompetent unqualified Head Coach. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD (or at least Dolfans) SAY SOMETHING ROSS! Like "we will not put up with losing to a banged up Chiefs team or giving Rodgers our timeouts..win or heads start rolling immediately"
#FIREPHILBIN
:sorry: guys but the silence is killing me

I think when they were listing coaches who were on the Hot Seat for this season...as in Win or Else....you heard the names of Ryan (Jets), Garrett (Cowboys) and Philbin (Phins) at the top of the list. I doubt Ross does anything until after Game 16.

It's not the time for Ross to say anything IMO. Philbin already heard it from Marino, JT etc with the QB situation.

He needs to turn up the heat to inferno...this guy is losing us many many games. Philbin is inept and not cutting your losses is just wasting time.

With how bad Sparano situation was handled best thing we can have happen is nothing!

Firing the coach is pretty much giving up on the season and I don't think Ross is ready to do that

Losing to the Chiefs a fireable offense? The same team that destroyed the Pats on prime time and who lost by a thread to the Broncos and Niners?
Cam Cameron? who lost 13 games to start his NFL career. Seriously?

You claim to be a fan for 42 years but act like you are 15 years old.
What does Ross gain by doing any of that other than appease your sense of anger?
I have an answer for you...
NOTHING

Ross should absolutely be thinking about it. He should quietly be researching and vetting names at all levels with his secret inner circle of advisors.
And first and foremost decide what he is going to do with Dennis Hickey, because that is decision 1A.
If Hickey is to be retained then he must immediately be brought into these discussions.

Publicly undermining Philbin with these statements only shows FUTURE HC candidates that Ross may do the same to you.
Dude thats NFL ownership 101!!

Firing Philbin before the season is up accomplishes NOTHING.
Threatening to fire him only undermines his authority and essentially implodes the season at the quarter mark.

Ross just bought the team to brag to his billionaire buddies. He really doesn't care.
The fans getting upset with "one of his toys' is probably amusing to him on some level.

Ross doesn't need to say a word. Especially publicly. Philbin knows his seat is warm. He has flaws as a head coach but he's still pretty damn smart upstairs in that odd-shaped noggin of his to understand this. We've managed wins over division rival Patriots, a win overseas in London and were a play away from snatching another on Sunday. All in all, it'd be a foolish move on Ross' part to speak up so early because of the impression it give to any possible future candidates. Believe it or not, Philbin still has time to right this ship but that time is crunched and a drastic and possibly improbable turn around would be needed.

:goodpost:

Two weeks ago, one of Ross's confidants told Greg Cote that Steve didn't 'like or get' what Joe was doing.

And now the deafening silence. I think this is a good thing. Perhaps it means that Mr. Ross gets it and is trying not to make the same mistake twice.

"Deafening silence" from the owner usually means bad news for the employees.

IIRC, Ross gave ireland the silent treatment just before...

Joe's not getting canned. I like nearly everyone else on here was very disappointed to lose the game that was there for the taking, but it would be a panic move to fire him.
The simple fact is that the best QB in the NFL was lucky to claw his way to a last second victory. We went close to beating a very good team, after most of the media expected that we were set to be thrashed or as Tim Brown predicted a shellacking of major proportions. We have the makings of a very competitive team. Let's stick with Joe and see how this unfurls. I'm optimistic we can have a good win up in Chicago.

One of the biggest issues this team has had is the constant churn of HC / GM / QB ... Yesterday was the first time I threw something(s) at the loss... It was a painful loss as a fan and I am sure for the players and coaches. As a loss it ends up being same ol' Dolphins, the other side of the coin a win would have been a statement win.

if Ross says nothing until after week 16 I am good with that.
I really hope that things pull together for the team, if they don't we are looking for a rebuild which may result in a couple year reset. I am tired of resetting without tangible results.

In Ross' mind it goes like this...

"Wow. We almost beat the Packers. These guys are great. Maybe I can get Snoop Dog to buy part of the team now...then I'll be one of the 'homies'...being rich is good!"
