feeley frerotte battle

I don't give a **** who comes out of the battle in front, because I'm confident that Saban will make the decision that is best for the team. That said, I THINK that the decision will end up being Feeley, because I liked some of what I saw towards the end of last year, unlike most.

I dont care either I want whoeveer is the best man for the job.

Not trying to start a new debate but I haven't heard ANY report that has stated Feeley has gotten better about NOT locking on a reciever. TO the contrary, I have heard that he continues to do it. ANd he also lacks touch on mid to short range passes.

I agree with SCall, what i hear is that feeley is getting better, but from what? He sucked last year. How can anyone say that he was great or even good? I think fans are delusional in what they see is good or bad. Fiedler was bad cus he was hated by everyone. so Feeley doesnt do anything better yet he has all the tools?

Im sorry, the more i read on this board, the more I think we do not have any free thinkers on here. Its a popularity thing and not realistic.

I got news for you all. Frerrotte will be here next year(as a back up) and Feeley will be gone (make room for Drew Brees). Feeley is not a Saban guy. Saban will get his man next year. As far as this year, may the best man win, but I am not fooled by people who have biases, I smell them a mile away.

Dude did Feeley bang your girlfriend or something chill out

huh? why do you say something stupid like that when somebody criticizes AJ?

I have no problems with fan blogs and blogs by Feeley supporters. Most of them have been biased against Gus for whatever reason. That includes Bedards....

I understand that Feeley supporters want AJ to do well, and thats fine, but Gus is just getting so much flak around here because so many people think that because he's old, he's lost it, which isnt necessarily true.

These same people who bash Gus have no idea if Feeley will ever amount to anything more than a mediocre QB, yet bash Gus for the past, even though he's had success in this offense.

I am very anxious to see both in game action, because practices to do nothing to prepare a QB for guys that are actually trying to hit you. And that was another one of AJs huge weaknesses. He freaks out and has no idea what to do when the play breaks down, I want to see if thats changed

At least its a REAL QB battle this year. Unlike the Circus of last year.

Exactly. That's the point. Both QBs are being given an equal shot to show their stuff

First off i was stationed in Kentucky in the army at Fort Campbell. Its beautiful there boring but def beautiful hills and gree and blue grass. Enough about that. Secondly i agree i would rather have the long term solution fixed with Feeley rather than Frerrote still a few years and then we draft and rebuild again.

Dudeman, I'm just having fun with you. You make good points. It's just you get a little heated when it comes to Feeley and Frerotte. In the end you may be right and Frerotte may be the better QB. If that's the case you can pat yourself on the back because you refused to back down. You just need to tone it down when it comes to bashing any positive reports on Feeley. I'm rooting for Feeley and I'll get my little digs in on Frerotte but the bottom line is I want both of them to light it up. When I read that Frerotte has a good practice I'm thrilled cause in the end if you wear our uniform Im rooting for you

Yeah thats the thing with Feeley If he improves enough we wont have to address the QB situation next year and can concentrate on other positions and put together that killer team. Otherwise its at least three years before we contend

Unfortunately, if Gus indeed gets the job, certain people here will be crying foul.

yeah, you really got to put emoticons after your post to indicate a playful attitude like this :goof: .....otherwise, people (like me) think you were serious....see?

that said, it's not about whos better, its about how these reports come across as being biased towards Feeley. I was just pointing out that Ozzy's reports had been the most fair to both QBs, whereas some other haven't. I've read many times where people say neither QB distinguished himself, yet the fan still gives the edge to AJ. Some have paragraphs of things AJ did well(most of the time neglecting really bad plays), and have a sentence or 2 describing what Frerotte did wrong (rather than what he did right)

Last night I was pleased to see Nasty, who's a Feeley supporter, finally give Gus some props, because most of these reports dont really describe many of Gus' highlights. I did however notice that Bedard said that the team had the best ever offensive practice that day AJ was sick.

Regardless, I'm amped about Monday, and look forward to seeing the new team

I like AJ and hope he pans out, but whomever is gonna lead us to victory should start.

I agree Frerrotte is a short term solution if he starts. AJ has more upside there, but if he cant beat out Frerrotte, then Frerrotte should start.

Works bot ways, I have seen reports here that said Feeley did worse while the media said Feeley did better.

I found it interesting that noone has mentioned that so far Frerrottes has thrown more picks than AJ.

Dont get yourself to the point where you get dissapointed my man. If Feeley throws more than 5 picks in the first few games, he will be yanked. I want Feeley to succeed, but what i hear from people isthat he is better cus that is who they want to win the battle. that stuff scares me. I would hate to lose ball games cus a guy doesnt understand to look off your recievers when the whole team had the game in hand.

While I agree with what you said. There seems to be this air that Frerrotte is this great qb or has that potential to be one. Maybe, but I dont see it, he has numerous opportunities and couldnt start in Detroit over Detmer and Mitchell I believe or was it McMahon? Cant exactly remember. I think many are pulling for AJ because he is the one that has the potential to be a L/T solution, Gus is a stop gap. IMO

i hope its aj. he throws a better ball. i think with an improved kine, he won't make as many mistakes. your only as good as the guys in front of you. that seattle game sealed it for me last year. a.j. all the way..........

I'm also rooting for A.J. sense he's more likely to have a long term place on the team. I'll be disappointed if Gus wins it just because I'd like for AJ to prove he can do it but if Gus is what's best for team this year I'll be fine with it.

I think it's likely next offseason Saban will look to sign or draft a QB he thinks better fits the team unless it's AJ that proves otherwise. I hope he does but with the fact that AJ can't pull away from Gus even this early in the preseason shows that Saban WILL look elsewhere the next couple of years as he builds the team with his type of players.
