Feeley+Gordon+Thompson for some qb's

the only qb i would trade for is rivers

Look at River's cap numbers and you will find out that he will probably not be traded. Also Brees will be a free agent next year (unless they tag him). They will probably wait to see if Brees can repeat last years performance before trading any of their qb's.
And by the way, have you gone to any of the chargers forums and see what the chargers fans think of Rivers??

Relying on the draft alone with no clear cut franchise QB comming out of college is pretty short sighted in my opinion.

A top draft pick doesn't guarantee anything, I agree.

Clearly Couch has to be a viable option at this point, even if it's for mid-season or next year. Sign him for a year and cut AJ. Let Gus start for now and let Couch work his way into the lineup. The guy will do anything to get another shot, that's the kind of guy I want in there, not a ****y-no-practicing-pick-throwing-for-TD-wannabe-NFL-QB...if Couch turns out to be 'the guy' sign him to a long term deal next year. If not, we have not lost anything except a ****y-no-practicing-pick-throwing-for-TD-wannabe-NFL-QB!

I don't agree with Saban's philosophy here, it's never worked in the NFL. I think he should have picked a guy (GUS) two weeks ago and given him all the 1st string snaps the rest of the preseason. Let him get the reps to bring some consistency to the table. Of course, Saban didn't know AJ was a bum like I did... ;-)

Yeah I agree, Couch or Davey is fine IMO. One of the two should be brought in.. All it costs is a vet. min. salary.. A chance I think Saban should take... Very minimal risk.

yeah so im pretty much saying i wouldent trade for a backup qb
well...what do you think Feeley and Frerotte are??
So you wouldnt trade Feeley (who may end up being cut), Gordon ( a 4th string rb) and Thompson (who make not even make the final cut) for a 2nd string qb who may come in and improve our team??
How about bringing in Couch, or giving Sage a shot with the first team?
Lets face it...we need help at the qb position.

not this year though cause there is no good qb out there we wait for next year draft one or pick one up

What QB do you want to trade for... Please don't say Billy Volek or Trent Dilfer...

How about this trade for somebody's 2nd string qb who could come in and play better than what we have until we can get a qb next year?
I know is late, but lets face it...we are desperate for at least a mediocre qb.
F and F have showned that they are not even mediocre starting quality qb's.
With F and F, and without Ricky, what are our chances during the first 4 games of the season. I say bring somebody in and have them learn the system and by week 5 (when Ricky returns) they should be able to start for us.
Saban is all about who gives us the best chance to win..Well, unless he lets Sage shows us what he can do with the first team, what we have is simply not good enough!

Well, first off, no one in the NFL would make that trade right now. Second, is it now that you finally woke up ? This has been coming at us since Frerotte was signed...(meaning that neither QB we had competing for the job was worth a crap...) Now, go back to the article yesterday about how we will be lucky to be 4-12 again and tell me if it is so far fetched, like some were saying yesterday...

But what do we have to loose by bringing some one now?
Let that individual learn the system and see if they can develop under Linehan's tutelage. If it doesnt work, what have we lost? Then we can proceed with your plan and pick up a Qb next year.
