Feeley or Frerotte to start at QB

Believe it or not, if we are going to make a run for a playoff spot, Frerotte has to be the man. He knows the system allready, so Linehan can throw the whole playbook at him. Unlike Feeley, Linehan will not be able to throw the whole playbook at him because he is stil learning and not confortable in the system yet...Heck, it took Feeley about 10 games into the season to learn Chris Foerster's playbook which is nothing compared to a Linehan or Martz's playbook.

I'm kinda hoping myself Rosenfels starts, like Wanny said last year, he should be a starter, but I'm not sure if he will have a fair shot....

Frerotte.
I think Saban has started to leave hints that AJ will not be the starter by saying that Gus has the advantage. AJ may surprise, but IMO Saban views him as the underdog.

No matter what anyone says or implies.......who gets the job will be decided in preseason. No sooner.

I think they ought 2 bench feely turn ferotte to a coach leving sage & brock as #'s 2&3, then for a starter they should call a fan down from the stand at each game 2 be under center as no fan could be any less incopetent than feely. Justkidden(sort of)

If Feeley starts then Ill be happy because i know that means Gus didnt deserve the job. I personally think Gus should be our starter, but if Feeley shows Saban somthing that makes him the starter then im all for it. Alot of people are saying how bad of a situation we are in @ QB. However, I have to remind those people that we had good seasons with Fiedler because we surrounded him with Ricky Williams and a good defense. Now we have a complete different team on both offense and defense and the new coaching staff is alot more energetic with the new era in Miami. Our defense should be one of the best Miami has ever had depending on how Saban is able to shape our Secondary(our only weak spot). Im just as excited to watch Miami on defense this year as I am to see Ricky back in the Teal and Ronnie making his debut.

We really shouldnt care who Saban names his starting QB because he will chose who he feels has the best chance of winning games for us. With all of the weapons we have on offense(Chambers, McMichael, Boston, Booker, Brown, Williams*), and our retuned defense, I really feel that either AJ or Gus could lead us into the playoffs this year.

Survey says................................................................................................................................Frerotte

Frerotte basically has no upside. He is what he is, a decent backup and a below average starter. At least Feeley has youth on his side, with the potential to get better. If this team is rebuilding, it makes no sense whatsoever to start Frerotte. By the time the other pieces are in place, you'll need another 3 years to groom a QB. At least give Feeley a chance with a legitimate offensive coordinator and a legitimate running game.

Frerotte.

Quick story. Saban coached against Feeley and Oregon in 1999 at Michigan State. MSU was ahead in the 4th quarter and Oregon was just starting a drive deep in it's own territory. Saban called a blitz and Robaire Smith drilled Feeley in the gut just as he was releasing the ball. Feeley got up very slowly and walked, hunched over, to the Oregon sidelines. The camera was on him the whole time and the ABC announcers were talking about what a vicious hit it was. Suddenly, puke began blasting out of Feeley's helmet At least two big loads landed on the turf with ABC broadcasting the whole thing live nationwide. :barf: :barf:

I got to give Feeley credit, though. He pulled himself together and went back in the game on the next drive. I'm sure that impressed Saban when he studied the film afterwards.

Frerotte. Why else would Frerotte leave Minnesota?? The Vikes did lose Linehan, however, Loney runs the same exact offense. Gus is here to start I assure you.

Frerotte left Minnesota because there is no way that he could overthrow Culpepper as the starter. He has a good chance at beating out Feeley but I don't think it will happen. Feeley will start

Good point Cobra, i never really thought about that! Saban doesn't really have any investment in Feeley, so he is not going to suffer the growing pains needed to develope Feeley! And Feeley is far from a finished product. Ferrotte on the other hand, can step right in and be the caretaker for awhile.

I would start Fretotte, becasue now with Ricky back we are no longer in rebuilding mode.
