Feeley or Frerotte

Its a good thing coaches dont judge preseason games like you. Take these games with a grain of salt, they are only about practicing plays in a live situation, thought most people realized that. How have you possibly seen enough out of Gus in our system with only 2 small appearances in PRE-SEASON to come up with your "realization"? I know I sure havnt seen enough to criticize yet.

Agreed .... but more importntly that practising in live situations is.. EVALUATING.
There are alot of guys trying to make the team. The best way to evaluate.. are these games.

I would expect changes to start this week. ronnie to sign this week... and the team to start gelling a little more. dont expect a QB to be names until after the next game.

Well, AJ had better numbers then Gus and had second string players, OL, WRs, RBs, etc. That to me says he did better. Yet, somehow some thing Gus had the better night?!?

Gus put points on the board and didnt throw an int and if not for a stockar penalty he would have put more points on the board.....also keep in mind yes AJ was playing with the 2's and thowing an INT to a second string DB.

You cant start someone just because they are younger.....what do you say to the vet like Zach and JT and Seau......"well we dont have a shot this year so we are going to go with the younger guy who has yet to put a single point on the board".Which is how you win games......your supposed to outscore your oponents.

No, what I believe he was trying to say is that with all things being equal or this close, you start the younger guy because there is more potential for long term gain. What do we get out of Frerotte??? One or two years of Fiedler ball, that is to say average at best care taker style. However, feeley since he is 6 years younger may yield similar results and have a chance to improve. plus if you don't start Feeley, you might as well cut him because you can't mess with a QB's mind and confidence like that.

So start Feeley IMHO, not becaue he will lead us to a SB and Frerotte won't. Now if we are heading for an 8 and 8 season (or possibly worse) then give AJ his last shot. If he takes us to 8 and 8 keep him for competition with the new guy (via draft, FA, or trade).

Why completely lose a guy becuse another much older vet can take us to one more win. Mediocre is mediocre and the difference between 6 and 8 wins is moot for the franchise.

Who should start? You decide:

Feeley? :baghead:

OR

Frerotte? :baghead:

gus was going 1's vs 1's and got us on the board. feeley was going 2's/3's vs 2's/3's and didn't get past midfield. F stats, points are the problem, and feeley hasn't gotten us close to even field goal range this whole preseason. my tally goes gus-13, aj- 0, b/c getting your team in the endzone is the only thing that matters, i don't care how good aj can throw a 12 yard hitch if he move his offense into the redzone.

Amen preach on bother man.

I find it funny that all this haggling is going on after only 2 of 5 pre-season games. Is the offensive line set in stone yet? No, it's still in the evaluation stage. No QB is going to look good without working offensive line. I'm not making excuses for anybody, but lets wait untill the last pre-season game at least.

I take Fuerotte over Feeley just look at the stats

Fuerotte is 17 of 31 (55%) for 194 yards 1 TD 0 INT in two games
Feeley is 10 of 20 (50%) for 95 yards 0 TD 1 INT in two games

also...

Rosenfels is 13 of 21 (62%) for 114 yards 2 TD 0 INT in two games
Berlin is 15 of 21 (71%) for 191 yards 1 TD 1 INT in two games

Your just plain simple minded!you obviously havent watched the games as gus's first td was a slipped pass that was a miracle play by the wr and ricky single handedly got him the fg last night so go learn something about football besides the scoreboard and come back and post!

Frerrotte is clearly in control. He will be even more in control when the Ronny and Ricky show starts. Ronnie the FB, get used to it.
