Feeley should start...

I agree, but the guy who gave him his 10 starts IMO opinion will never be a GM ever again or a coach.

If Gus is ahead, he should start until AJ starts showing he is beating out Gus in practices. You don't use regular games to see what he can do unless AJ was annointed the future of your franchise like Eli Manning , Big Ben, or even JP Losman. Right now , no one knows if AJ is even better than a career back up qb. Are you willing to tank the season to find out even if Gus is ahead?

im saying if they are close... if its close but frerotte is just slightly ahead, then the seasons gonna tank just as much with him as AJ (not that i think we'll tank with either QB, but you asked it that way), maybe he'll get us 1 more win? for that id rather start the guy with more upside who maybe can put it together and be a great player for us... but frerotte has no upside, hes not going to improve... AJ could improve, maybe he wont, but theres a better chance he would than frerotte MUCH better....

only way i start frerotte is if hes lights out, which so far hes not...

Feeley has definitely shown flashes of brilliance last year.

I hope people don't bash you for posting your opinion especially when you backed it up fairly well. Albeit the Qb debate has been beaten to death lately.

But I do disagree with the pulling him halway through the season, I think last year we swapped around too much w/ Fieldler and Feeley and I don't like that approach. But, I can understand if he's doing horrible you have to pull him. But yet again teams who do a QB shuffle usually don't do great such as the Giants, Redskins, and Us. I'd prefer one QB to step up and we can ride him through the whole season, and if he takes us to mediocrity, then we draft a potential future starter next year.

Flashes of Brilliance?? GImme a break. Maybe he showed a flash of average at one point.

Okay after readings this entire thread, my question is this if Gus has so much more experience, knows the offense already and is supposed to be so much better then why can't he, or is he not beating out AJ in training camp or even in the first game? Sure he had better pocket awareness than Feeley did but his passes were wobbly, short and he was inconsisent, He even admitted that his TD pass was an accident. Okay Feeley might not have the Awareness that Gus does, but at least his passes were sharp, they made it to the receiver and he didnt just get LUCKY. I whould rather have a QB that can learn pocket awareness and to not lock on a WR but strong enough and accurate enough to get them the ball, than have a QB that has the awareness already but has the arm of EARS.

And basing AJ on his peformance from last year is the stupidest thing I've heard all day.

i dont believe saban has come out and given anyone the nod... all the talk is from people who are not ont the team and who are on the edge of the know. i believe saban is leaning toward his guy(frerotte).. but because of the investment and $$$ has to give the incumbent(Feeley) a shot.

remember.. this thread is also a fans perspective.
