Feeley Should Start

Pitt has the BEST DEFENSE IN THE NFL....not only did gus suffer from WR drops but he was doing this against I repeat.....THE BEST DEFENSE IN THE NFL.

Pitt was never forcing Frerotte to make bad throws and bad decisions, he did that of his own free will. It's one thing if he got sacked 8 times and had a horrible game, but fact is he didn't make but 2 or 3 good throws all not. AJ had about a dozen, and while it's possible that a good defense can break up good throws, bad ones make the defense irrelevant.

Could be....You may be exactly right but, we'll know for sure if AJ plays.

Or if indeed Gus beats him out!

I don't think the QB comp is done, and said so last week, I will take the one who plays the best in preseason, because I want wins, I can't take another 4-12 season, I know, I'm only thinking of myself!

I still think Gus has a very little lead, but AJ closed it last night.

This is not trash talk, an honest question to you. Would you rather go 8-8 with Gus, or say 5-11 with AJ? And still end up drafting a QB either way?

I do think we are going nowhere with either, now or in the future, we will draft one next year in my eyes.
I'd rather go 5-11 with AJ and have all questions answered.
A top 5 QB is going to be a HUGE!!! investment, if there are any unanswered questions about AJ, how can you commit that much money?

It's almost senseless to think gus is all of a sudden going to be anything other than what he's been his whole career. 12 years is a pretty good barometer of a player. Old dogs that learn new tricks are few and far between gus is one old dog that's a coup[le of years away from being euthanized.

The Dolphins would simply be wasting any benefit we can get from this season by letting gus crash the bus.

I agree also, but Feeley has to look himself in the mirror and blame who he sees for not being assertive in taking control of this offense and team. Feeley's free pass came last year. After his struggles last season he could't assume anything but an open qb comptition this year. and he hasn't stepped his game up nearly enough. and being that he is the more talented qb that is extremely disheartening. Feeley, imo, should have contacted booker chamber and randy this offseason and talked them into spending a week to ten days together going over the new playbook so he could hit the ground running this summer. if you had to fly them in and put them up in a hotel so be it. at this point in felley's career this should be more than a job, it sould be his craft.....

exactly right with that reasoning. Gus and feeley are both bad. So I think you are correct in your reasoning. Might as well play feeley and get him some experience this year.
Let me correct myself. Not both "bad" both are backup QB's, neither should be starting in the NFL at this point. With that being said, I still say we can win some games if the rest of the O plays smart and they limit mistakes. That's what it comes down to. The QB is one part of the problem only.

Well, it's nice to know that the best defense in the NFL can make gus look like a little girl out there. That inspires so much confidence. Thank you.

I cant imagine AJ will be better than sage up there... QB arent pulling their weight... you have a point..(playing feeley this season.)... but feeley had all of last year and didnt impress. Hes not going to get better.... As far as the QB battle goes... flip a coin... becuase no-one is impressive.

There is a thing called good DB play and dropped balls at leat 3 or 4........also a think called QB pressure from constant blitzing.......Pittt made brady(regular season game) and others look really bad lst year doing the same thing..... Aj threw all dump offs and saw not even half the blitzing from Pitts backups....didnt the Steelers send 3 or 4 players to the probowl from there D. AJ had 2 plays of nine yards or longer anything under 9 cant be considered a good throws more like a 5 yards hand off.

The Dolphins would be better served to lose 11 games with Feeley at QB than to lose 11 games with gus at QB.

gus looks as bad, if not worse, than any QB that has come through here in the last 5 years. We're not going to the play-offs with gus as our QB. There are no if's, ands, or buts about it. If gus survives the whole season as a starter without getting injured, we'll be drafting in the top 10 and we won't know jack-**** about Feeley.

Let Feeley be the starter, learn the system by playing in it, and if he survives the whole year without getting injured we're either going to be exactly where we'd be with gus, except that we'll KNOW what Feeley is as a QB,

......or we're going to watch Feeley get better and better throughout the season.

With Feeley as the starter it's a win win even if we lose lose.

Start gus and it's a lose lose and more lose.

great points... but i disagree about we'll "know what we have with feeley". we "knew" what we had with him last year and the feeley homerism out there is insane. I'm not a gus supporter or feeley supporter, but i AM sick of the Feeley homers on here.

The guy could throw 15 INTs and still have their hearts. i mean come on... the excuse machine continues....

Jesus Christ, it constantly amazes me how many people have not written last year out of the record books.

That whole flippin team was crap, from the coaching to the towel boy, they were all a giant steaming pile of a$$ waste, yet people like you will still look back and say Feeley should have elevated the entire team.

When you make any reference to last year, your point it moot.

Again, anybody that wants to evaluate Feeley based on the team that we had last year is just ignorant.

Pay attention please....do you see me mentioning anybodies stats from last nights game? This has very little to do with stats, it has more to do with where we want to be NEXT year and what we want to accomplish and learn this year.

I agree on both points. The wr's made Gus look worse and the defense was the number one dee in the NFL. I do think there is a point bout playing AJ, but saying that Gus is awful and the worse qb to come through our system is an extreme exaggeration.

wow, this could be the best post I've ever read on here. It is exactly how I feel about the qb situation, and the reason why I support Feeley. You've managed to say it perfectly, someone buy this man a t-shirt or something.
