Feeley Should Start

Infins correct me if I am wrong, and some others are not seeing your point!

Feeley should start for the SOLE purpose to see if he works out, or if he is a BUST...

So next year we would need to see if we need to address the QB situtation again, in the early draft rounds???

sure i just do not think that they're are the answer right now berlin is a rookie and if he started then everyone would yell and scream taht saban put him in to early. i will give him time he might be pretty good.

i will not say anything about sage because that will start a big arguement of opinions that is useless because we know that he would start just because you want him to.

unless you twist it around to say he meant sage or brock should start, which i can agree with...
There is no twisting it...
His first post said it doesn't matter who starts between AJ and gus....and that this debate will continue until a legitimate QB is signed to the roster.

I also said that maybe starting Sage or Brock might work to wake up someone to take control for a change.

I'm not necessarily saying which round we need to look for another QB but, yes, we need to develop Feeley until we're satisfied that he can get no better. Sitting him on the bench is not going to solve anything.

sage is a good back up qb in my opinion and that is only my opinion. he is solid when he is in. i just don't think that he is the guy that will give us wins. i don't even think that he would have givin us our only bright spot of last season, our win against the patriots.

i think that aj is reall y good at some spots ( like in the second half against the pats )
and really bad at other times to inconsistent.

so when do you try out berlin with something more than 4th string?

you said berlin's not ready. well yeah. so when will he be ready? next year?

If AJ sucks this year and everyone is screaming for a QB to draft, say we spend our first rounder on a QB (leinart or jacobs or whomever), then do we start that person? or do we have them grow under another veteran? when does brock fit in? when does sage fit in?

Look, i just want a better glimpse of Berlin with some starters... lets see what he can do. Like i said - worst case scenario, we stay as we are now. Best case - we save a draft pick from next year and find our guy.

cool i didn't read that i agree if it is a pre-season game.

on the contrary saying brock or sage should start makes a heck of a lot more sense than bringing marino back, or even having gus or AJ start for that matter.

Sage - has only been given one start in recent memory - the baltimore game last year. and while he didn't blow them away, he performed better than AJ did in his first game with us. In fact Sage performed well. So it can't hurt to give him a shot. the preseason is the time to do it guys, not regular season to experiment here.

Brock - he's a complete rookie, new at this game just as Orton, Smith, Frye, or Orlovsky. He's not a star QB obviously, but he hasn't shown anything this preseason to prove he's NOT worth taking a shot at. If he came out and played like absolute dogcrap like Rodgers or Smith has, then i could see. but Berlin has played admirably enough to warrant trying him out. who knows? worst case scenario things stay as they are now. Best case scenario, Brock proves to be our QB of the future, and we can just take this season that apparently lacks promise anyway and get ahead of the game in the grooming department by having Berlin start for us.

Either way thats better than wasting another year going nowhere and waiting until NEXT year to draft a rookie QB just to have another garbage year of growth next year too.

I think going into the 4th preseason game Saban needs to start thinking about making a decision on who the starter will be. I'll go out on a limb and say whoever starts the next game will be the starter for the first regular season game. Not having a guy step up and clearly beat out the other one is gonna have fans calling for the QB's head every mistake they make.

Demoting Feeley to second string has already seemed to motivate him. Now, we need to see if he can do it as a starter.

Have you checked the record last season?

I hope that he starts against Tampa and lights it up.... but I will have to see it to believe it.

i say just give him the same chance as everyone one else.

let him try out and progress and if he is good enough then he will win it in practice.

but that is me being optomistic, that we will actually give him time to progress
