It just pisses me off when I see other teams 2nd and 3rd QBs play lights out and head and shoulders above our "#1"

You have to put it in the right context though. Our starter (whoever it is in any given week) is out there with a new system and behind a line learning a new blocking scheme. Our starters are also playing against starters. The 2nd and 3rd stringers lighting it up are doing it against the 2nd and 3rd stringers of the teams they're playing.

:shakeno: Your side? I doubt you even knew your side until he said that.

Give it a rest, man.... Just because you (and one we will not name) did not get my point, that doesn't mean it wasn't there to be had.

Why not? If nobody wants to step up to the proverbial plate....then throw someone else in there to see what they got. Someone has got to be able to prove something here.
Why not? because this was a thread about realistic starters, and niether of those two fit the bill, if sage was going to do anything, he would've by now, and Berlin (who I like...) is at best a 3rd stringer this year, at worst he makes it to our PS.

This is your opinion and I have mine. Last I checked it was OK to have your own opinion.

so when do you try out berlin with something more than 4th string?

you said berlin's not ready. well yeah. so when will he be ready? next year?

If AJ sucks this year and everyone is screaming for a QB to draft, say we spend our first rounder on a QB (leinart or jacobs or whomever), then do we start that person? or do we have them grow under another veteran? when does brock fit in? when does sage fit in?

Look, i just want a better glimpse of Berlin with some starters... lets see what he can do. Like i said - worst case scenario, we stay as we are now. Best case - we save a draft pick from next year and find our guy.
Even the best QBs in this league have usually worked thier way into the 1st sting line-up, and they hardly ever are successful at thier first year.

Since the merger there is something like two QB's who started the majority of the games during the season, and have a winning record.

Here's a hint, one's retired and a hall-o-famer, and the other was a rookie last year.

In other words, Rookie Qbs should be allowed to sit on the bench and learn from someone else, an hopefully contribute in the second or third year. (Think Chad Pennington, Drew Brees, etc)

i agree we are allowed to have our opinions.

that is why it is fun to be on here to see what others think and what they think of my opinion no matter how bad my opinion is.

yeah, with the exception of, My opinion didn't hijack the thread, nor did I debate someone for the sake of playing devil's advocate, IOWs, I wasn't wasting anyone's time.

You can add Carson Palmer to that list. No sense throwing a rookie to the wolves if you don't have to.
