Board Linebacker
This poll makes me laugh. Saban isn't playing Feeley because he's not good enough, and people just hang on to Feeley, a career backup, because saying "hey I was wrong, let's move on" is too much, even on the internet.
True, and Gus has done nothing proving he his better than AJ, despite having a 2 year knowledge lead on the offense & more field time playing in it.Phinsdude said:Feeley is not better then gus, and has not done anything to prove his is better then gus..
That was 9 or 10 years ago for Gus. A lot of bench time for Gus since then.Phinsdude said:I don't care how he got there, when he got there, he still went to the pro bowl. When QB's like Ben Roethlisberger go 13 straight wins, or more, throw only 11 int's, and not go to the probowl, it shows you just how hard it is to make it. Yes, QB's do have a downside on their career, but Frerotte is not old, and he has done more in the league. Feeley has not done anything, YET..

Yes, but I was referring to his time in Miami, not Washington. Also as I post. Gus's PB trip was 9 years ago.touborg said:Actually, Gus has a pro bowl.....

9 years is a long time & does not mean he is the QB now he was then, not that he was anything special then.
The NFC took 5 QBs to the PB that year.
Just because a player once went to a PB does not mean they are still at that level. Players age & skills diminish or Marino would still be the QB of Miami.
AJ may have resided in Miami for a year, but that means little when you bring in a new offense.touborg said:Oh in Miami?
Feeley has a year on Gus and he's still not our starter. He couldn't beat out Harrington, McNabb, Fiedler and right now Gus is putting him on the bench. Like I said, we all loved it here when he came to replace Fiedler.
I'm not so sure about that. I'd like to see him take his lumps this year & see how he does. Most QB struggle their first time starting in the NFL. Why should we think AJ would be different. Especially with no OL or running game.touborg said:but we just have to accept he's not our long time solution.
