Wrong. He and Davis both have made mistakes and payed for them. It's called being a rookie. Try watching a game, rather than going off boxscore. You'll see that Smith plays good coverage quite often. Maybe then we can get less of your "smith has no picks so he haz no potential" ill informed posts. Davis gets burned too, yet I don't see you busting your balls to post about it. Oh wait, that's because he has a couple INT's, so clearly he most be all world. There's a reason nobody takes you seriously, you're a troll, with horrible grammar. You claim you're the most knowledgeable poster here, when you clearly show you don't actually understand the game. Hmm, wait. Bad grammar, claiming to be knowledgeable, aha! You're RaiderJoe. That's gotta be it.

**** grammar, i could give a rats *** bout my grammar, i know my football kid, and i havent seen **** from sean smith. U ask what has vontae davis done? he has done alot more then sean smith, while vontae davis has gotten burnt before he has proven to be a playmaker and a dynamite hitter. Davis has made up for his rookie mistakes, while sean smith hasnt done jack **** yet, some of yal dont want to accept that smith sucks but il say it, HE SUCKS. If u want good grammar than go to a language arts class, this is a football forum.
 
Yeah because someone who sucks would shut down Reggie Wayne. Get real "kid".

Also asking for good grammar doesnt mean were in an english class, it just means we dont want to look like Jets fans. But you would fit right in with them.

Are you actually going to post a reason WHY you continue to say Sean Smith sucks? I mean you keep posting your opinion as if it were a FACT but you are not backing up your views with any real information.

I mean, do you have some stats? Like catch % against him? Passes deflected? Average yardage per catch against him?

In one of those stats I mentioned above he has performed poorly - you could use that to back up the crap you spew. You could actually use, you know, facts, to prove a point.

Novel idea, I know.

Please, just stop saying you know football, and that you're knowledgeable. If you haven't seen anything from Sean Smith, it's because you haven't watched a game this year. Plain and simple. Davis has done more, yes. But saying Smith sucks when he has done a lot of good things just goes to show you how clueless you really are. If you haven't noticed by now, there's yet to be ONE poster to agree with you yet, in any thread. I'll let you in on a secret why that is. It's because you actually don't know football like you think you do. Look at this way, I'm trying to help you out. You make yourself look foolish time and time again.

i am not a basher against Smith but a couple of weeks ago when we still had will allen i remember them saying that Smith was giving up 80% completion and will allen was only giving up 50 at that time i am not sure what it is now but that is what is was

Great point. He has no stats or anything to backup his claims. All he can say is "Sean Smith sucks", or "Davis got picks so he be good". I'm still waiting on a "knowledgeable" explanation on why Sean Smith sucks.
 
Since I doubt we'll get any stats from Ronnietruck, I'll post some from a favorite website of mine.

Davis has been thrown at 35 times, Smith 37 times. Pretty equal. Both have allowed 23 receptions each, so Davis is giving up a reception 65.7% of the time, Smith 62.2%. Just for the record, Will Allen was 2nd in the league for CB's taking 50% of snaps, giving up only 37.9%. Davis has given up 502 receiving yards for an average of 21.8 ypc, Smith 438 yards for 19.0 ypc. Worst and 2nd worse in the NFL for CB's taking 50% or more of the snaps. Davis has given up 210 yards of YAC, Smith has given up 95 yards of yac. Davis has given up 1 TD, Smith has given up 2. Davis has 5 passes defensed, Smith has 7.

Sorry to inform you Ronnietruck, but your claims that Smith sucks and Davis is worlds better holds no water. Smith is equal, if not better than Davis in coverage, according to the stats.

Worst and 2nd worst in the NFL? Wow, I didn't think it was that bad. I'd be curious to see their 1st half statistics compared to 2nd half.
 
Yes but you also need to consider how many times they shut down their receivers COMPLETELY - not even being thrown at.

They haven't been perfect, but they've been pretty solid for a couple of rookies.
 
alright i guess i have been a little hard on smith, maybe he isnt as bad as i said he is but as of now he still hasnt shown me anything, il give him a few more games to decide if he sucks or not, but vontae davis has most def made me a believer, stats or no stats the guy is a playmaker. Interceptions, hits like a truck, excatly the type of corner we need.
 
And Sean Smith is the other type of corner we need, a player who is tall and fast and can handle big target recievers , and he is extremely helpful in the redzone. I dont see to many jump balls going against him in his career.
