Who would have thought it would have taken this long to get a quarterback better than Fiedler? I guess Pennington was better but he wasn't around very long.

“I think he's done a great job of improving himself,” Fiedler said. “Certainly he came in as a rookie with very little experience at the quarterback position, even as a college player.

“Certainly you're going to see more so many more defenses at this level than what he faced in college. It takes time to learn and to get yourself to a position where you can dictate to the defense. I think he's starting to get there.”

Tannehill has experienced shoulder, knee and finger injuries in 2013, but it hasn't kept him out of the starting lineup.

“It's tremendous,” Fiedler said of Tannehill's toughness. “To be hit that many times, certainly guys are bigger, faster, stronger every year. The No. 1 job as a quarterback is to play every Sunday, and he's done that for two years. It's a testament to his toughness and his ability to get through games and come to work week in and week out.”

Although Fiedler had his limitation...no one can question his toughness on the field. The man laid his heart out there every Sunday for the team.

When Tannehill wins 22 more games, he will have won more games than Jay Fiedler. At that point, the only other Dolphins QBs that will have won more games would be Hall of Famers Dan Marino and Bob Griese.

I still don't know how he fit those ears in a helmet.

Fiedler is the last Dolphin QB to win a playoff game. How sad is that

I met Jay Fielder at a bar years ago in Portland, ME. Good guy. Underrated Dolphin.

I wish they didnt shut down jayfiedlersucks.com

Damn that was a great website.

How sad is it that I would also welcome back Lamar Smith.

That is what a QB wants, an endorsement from a mediocre, journeyman former QB.

I didn't like Fiedler as a QB, but he was the epitome of a "tough football player" give the guy a break already

You know it's been bad when you miss the Dave Wannstedt years. We actually won 10 or 11 games some of those years.

....now all we need is John Beck's approval and Tannehill should gain the confidence he needs to be successful.
