Fiedler endorses Tannehill

ha ha sorry ass jay fiedler...one of the worst long term contract extensions this franchise has ever made...

I didn't like Fiedler as a QB, but he was the epitome of a "tough football player" give the guy a break already

I will give him a break when I lose the memory of him not throwing to the WR on crossing route to gain the 1st down, but instead throws to doubled covered Chris Chambers. The worst part about it was that it was about a 40 yd pass that needed to be thrown on a rope, instead he throws a wounded duck that must have hung in the air for 6secs. The guy is a bum. The only reason he won was because of the players around him made up for his deficiencies. If we would have had a better QB, we would have been a much better team.

absolutely...although the d choked at the end of every year...fell off the map completely...fiedler was at his best average not a get you over the hump guy but we poaid him on that contract extension like he was...

Although Fiedler had his limitation...no one can question his toughness on the field. The man laid his heart out there every Sunday for the team.

Damn right. Wasn't very talented but he gave everything he had week in and week out. How could you ask for more from a single man? Wasn't great by any means. But he never stopped trying. Tough SOB.

Who cares what Fiedler thinks! I thought he was dead

****ing idiotic comment

gave great effort??? sure...but not a very good qb...basically teased people with play from time to time...and sucked royally at others...terrible long term contract

He was a decathlete you know :D :D :D

In all seriousness, Fielder lack some skills at QB, but he was a tough SOB. You never saw him going out of bounds or sliding when a first down or score was on the line. Hell, he was more aggressive in trying to get key yards than some of the WR's and RB's we've had in the past. He gets props from me.

Ok, so where in my post did I say he was a good QB??????? Get over yourself dude, see a therapist before you kill yourself over a QB who played 10 years ago

Jay Fiedler was not an elite talent by any means. The guy could barely throw an out pattern. That was the franchise's fault for not investing in an heir apparent to Danny. None of that was Jay's fault. Jay was highly competitive and tough. Who can forget his scramble at the end to win the game against the Raiders that garnered him the cover of SI. If you look at one our early 2000s teams (2002, i think), Jay got hurt for a long stretch in the middle of the year and we needlessly lost some games with the likes of Ray Lucas. This was the era when the defense was at the height of its powers and the offense had Ricky ripping it up, an emerging Chambers and McMike plus Gadsden. That was a damn good team with Jay. But Fiedler got hurt and people forget what a ceiling that team could have had if Lucas didn't wet the bed.

Do I wish the team had drafted Drew Brees as I wanted in real time? Of course but none of that changes what Jay did. Overall, he was our guy and I support him because he was a high character guy, tough, and competitive

Totally agree with everything but I'll say it once more......just not a good QB

Jay Fiedler played with heart and is pretty universally regarded as a good human being. And I respect that. But he was... not a good quarterback.

But hopefully he is a good evaluator of them...

I'd give practically anything to go back to the Wannstache years compared to what this team has produced over the last 8-9 years, so I don't know how any of you can bash Fiedler, no he's wasn't Marino (which I think is honestly why everyone judges him so harshly, HUGE shoes to fill) but he was serviceable and gave us a shot at the playoffs multiple times, more than I can say for anyone since him.

Remember what Wannstache said when they asked him about Trent Green being available in free agency? (when he was in his prime) "What can Tent Green do that Jay Fiedler can't?"

Idk Dave. Maybe put up great stats, be a Pro Bowl QB and be a much better QB than Fiedler?

Thanks Wannstache.

Fiedler was not a real good quarterback everybody acknowledges that. But other than Pennington he was the best the Dolphins have had since Dan.
