Finnegan made a huge error.

We should have kept Patterson, he played well for us last year when he wasn't injured.

Edit: Patterson is available.

He's been bad for a few years now.

Desperately need corners

We could always let a guy like Will Davis get some more time, but nope, gotta have mediocre veterans like Finnegan and Wilson out there every play, leading a charge of DB's who have no game changing ability whatsoever.

Rodgers even glanced over to his right before he motioned for the spike. We all knew it was going to be a fake spike, why They were playing that far off i do not get. Make the tackle and game over.

I could of told you that from being forced to watch him and the Rams here in the STL. There was a reason Fisher cut him -- his best days have been behind him for a long time now. Very puzzling signing by Hickey.

We'll if our 2nd and 3rd round picks from the 13 draft were any good Hickey would not have had to sign him. Pretty bad that Jamar Taylor and Will Davis can't get an aging Finnegan or 7th round pick Jimmy Wilson off the field.

Great point. It's puzzling that Jamar Taylor can't get worked in at boundary corner some. It is hard to believe that he could be that bad. He should be brought into situations he can handle. That was a rookie from Fresno. Taylor couldn't play him? Finnegan has a good attitude but he has lost a step and really hurt us out there.

Taylor would probably be great but Coyle is clueless regarding talent. It had to take an injury to get Jinkins in and look what he is doing.

True , he goes for the fake inside not realizing he should attack and make sure the receiver doesnt get out of bounds. Finnegan does not understand the situation.

Yeah but what does it say about our depth though? I mean he beat out Taylor and Davis? Heck anyone else we have at CB didn't he? Talk about wasting draft picks if Taylor and Davis cant beat out CF.

All of our CB's played like sh** all game. Finnegan doesn't know how not to get a penalty called against him. Jimmy Wilson has absolutely no awareness of where the ball is at all and Grimes needs new cleats or something because he was slipping every time Jordy caught the ball. Pathetic.

Yeah let's sign Patterson who walked out on the Jets and then got cut b/c he's a guy that literally cannot stay on the field.

Lots of could haves, would haves, should haves. Running the ball on the third and long with about 3 or 4 minutes left was dumb. Fields made a crappy punt that got run back past the 40. Nobody could cover Nelson. Philbin gives the game away with his clock management and time out to help Green Bay. It wasn't just one thing.

I agree. I posted that a few hours ago. I think it was in the Brent Grimes thread. I'm hardly a Grimes fan but Finnegan was much worse today. I couldn't believe Grimes was taking the bulk of the heat.

It's a rookie receiver. Very prone to making the greedy mistake and thinking he can escape for the touchdown if you overplay the boundary and tempt him inside. Finnegan needed to immediately move to his left and see what the receiver does. If he detours outside you save a few yards. If he bolts inside you can attempt the tackle plus the backup help from the safety. Finnegan played it the worst possible way other than completely missing the tackle on the sideline and allowing a tip toe touchdown.

I'll have to watch it again but I thought he was attempting to drag him in bounds, unless I'm thinking of a different play. These guys aren't rocket scientists out there, I think its asking a little much to get that creative on the field on the fly, especially in that situation on the fake spike. Its one thing if an offensive player decides to stay in bounds rather than go out, but on the defensive side you're first priority is to not allow the score.
