Finnegan Ready To Bring Back His Edge

regardless of what i think about Finnegan as a person, the signing does very little for me. we had a question mark at CB2 before we signed him and still have one after we did IMO.

For the fellas against him..are you hoping he plays lights out? I see your points but now he's on our team. Again, you do want him to succeed right?

All dolphin fans are hoping he plays lights out, he hasn't played well for 3 years so who knows. I want the dolphins to succeed.

It's only been two; injury plagued 2013 and the last 12 or so games of 2012.

The Rams had a mess trying to run their defense too.

If he stinks it up I'll be the first to call for his benching but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

This signing will tell us a lot about Hicky's evaluation skills imo, the contract is not bad if Finnegan plays at least good but if Finnegan plays great it will reflect very well on Hicky.

If u say so he hasn't been up to a high level for the past three. he got that contract on his previous reputation. He deserves no benefit of the doubt he was a major reason the Rams had a mess on defense. I love how u separate his last 12 games of a season, that's the damn season. Even when he played well those Tennesee defenses were no better than the Rams

I think this is a Coyle move. Patterson was just another washed up journeyman backup CB who transformed into a strong starter for us under his tutelage. CF has been a far better CB than Patterson and my thinking is they want to rehabilitate CF the way they did DP. Of course it's speculation on my part but Coyle has improved several players in our secondary year after year. If CF can rehab and improve the way Clemons, Carrol and Patterson have than we got a very good duo at CB. The other thing is CF is known to love the game, a true student of the game and a mentor towards tithe prospects and that's exactly why he was brought in IMO. Not all great players are mentors, Grimes may not be the mentoring type, so enter CF who's vocal, loud, tough and physical, has something to prove and this could be a win for the Dolphins. At the end of the day if it's not, it is only 5.5 mil pr year! Lol Matt Moore gets that much and won't have any impact to our team next year!

He sounds kind of like a player/coach to me. Sounds like he has been given the green light to try to light a fire under our d backs. Hope he can actually play.

It's a part of his game because that's what he is.

I don't want guys like that on my team.

You don't know him. But go ahead and judge him based off a game. Its a GAME.

Outside of that he's a great dude from all accounts but your own.

I have an odd feeling that he will have a grimes-esque year in terms of his coverage

I think our Defense is going to scare some receivers when running routes this yr. I think there will be a lot more disruption and bad routes by opposing receivers this yr. Couple of real mean secondary players will pay off I hope.

I think our starting CB's with Finny will be solid. Hopefully Taylor and Davis are ready to contribute as 3 and 4's, all together that's a solid unit. Wilson can play back up safety or back up dime CB and if they actually give Dion some snaps, we will be hard to pass on.

I do think the run defense will continue to be average with Paul gone. Hopefully, we will draft a LB within the first 3 picks (one who is not injured).

He's a good guy off the field.

Being a "ho" or "bitch" or "punk", whatever you may call it, is part of his game. He does it because he lacks some physical abilities.

And what abilities were previously there have eroded over the last few years. I am concerned that he'll be even more over-reliant than ever on the funny business, which will cost this team penalties and yardage.

I have absolutely zero respect for the guy and that's not going to change with him slapping on a Dolphins uniform.

in all honesty signing Finnegan my least favorite move this offseason. he is fully guaranteed this year and it has been 3 years since he was a top ten CB, so even if he struggles in camp we are saddled with him. that said i really hope i am proven wrong and he plays well if Taylor/Davis aren't ready for a starting gig. best of luck to him.

And he's still a "Ho, a punk, and a bitch."
