Fins to give Pouncey second chance

Great avatar btw.

I am flattered you would go through this trouble to disprove my shoddy 'shop job :chuckle:

The "****tails & Dreams neon" was the red flag...otherwise it seemed plausible.:chuckle:

Yeah, that was Ireland's. Hickey figured he'd have a few brews, stop by the jailbait gallery, and try to come up with a few trade proposals prior to re-decorating.

“Mike’s distraught over the whole thing,” a source close to Pouncey told the Sun-Sentinel.

The source also said of Pouncey, “He views it as a learning opportunity.”

It could be an expensive learning opportunity for Pouncey, who will lose salary if he’s suspended and may also find himself in a much worse position to negotiate a new contract: Like other 2011 first-round draft picks, Pouncey may be looking to extend his deal this offseason, and the Dolphins are going to be a lot less interested in making him a lucrative long-term offer now that he’s one of the faces of the scandal within their locker room. Pouncey may be distraught because he realizes the Ted Wells report is going to cost him a lot of money.

Who knows, this is also the sort of thing a team looks when they are trolling for offers. I think we can get a 2nd rounder for him, and if we can, I'd take it. Lots of teams wanted him in the back half of the first when he was drafted. He has proven to be just as good and durable of a player as hoped. His off-field transgressions are far less than many stars in this league. I'd say the biggest issues with him are A) is the drug issue real?, and B) how much will it cost to re-sign him. Some team may see this as a chance to get him on a 5 or 6 year contract on the cheap, which would be very appealing.

I'm all for wiping this OL clean and starting over, so in addition to losing the worst LT in the NFL and our former pro-bowl LG, I think it is also time to part ways with our crappy RG John Jerry and pro-bowl C Mike Pouncey.

Meh, we really don't have a choice given the state of the line. Rehabbing someone who constantly puts himself in these situations is a fanciful thought. I wish we were in a position to let some other team take on that responsibility, but we're not. We're stuck with him for another year. Hopefully we can at least get a full year out of him (I'd be surprised) without him providing a **** influence on the new linemen. Also, he belongs nowhere near any "leadership council."

Still think he'll be traded as Ross will want to clean all the bullying stench from the locker room.

All things considered, and I don't know their OLine situation, would the Steelers be a good fit for him?

EDIT: If you look at it a different way, I wouldn't see why he doesn't have a low round trade value. He has an expiring contract and would be a low risk one year "test drive" for a prospective team. I think there is trade-able value here. And I'd rather deal with the proposition of finding his replacement and a guy that can play all 16 games vs. enduring a suspension and hoping he comes back as a professional. Too much garbage on this curb. Time for it all to go.

The bullying and Free Hernandez cap is all I need to know with Pouncey. Fine him and keep him at C or move to guard where he was better at college

While I wish he was a high character guy, he isn't. This is why character matters when you draft people. That said, we are stuck with him and as long a he isn't in a leadership position to influence the new guys on the OL, then I think he can be managed and dealt with latter. It would be beneficial to bring in a veteran leader for the OL.

Agreed.....I would also add that Turner needs to be let go as line coach and hopefully our new guy who we picked up from the Texans will have the right influence.

Since we are keeping him you can guarantee something more will come out of the Hernandez thing now. It's Miami it's our luck!

The question isnt Pouncey, I can't believe Hickey gets photographed With an Alcoholic beverage and a risqué girl on his screen! Did we get the right GM?

Hey we might as well go all out....hell the OL conducts its meeting at the titty bar why not have the GM join them lol love that sig

Right move. Speaking of which i can't wait to start talking about football moves again .... like FA's, franchise tag and extension deals, and draft candidates.

Keep him for this last year of his rookie deal, but sign a contingency in FA. Goodell is going to take some games from him this coming season and the Feds could show up at this door any day now with an arrest warrant for ties to Hernandez. He should be in our 1 year plan but not our long term plan.
