First Depth Chart of the Year

Face it. Look at that roster up and down. We are solid on both sides of the ball at the LOS. Outside of that this roster is almost completely devoid of talent.

Its basically eerily(sp?) similar to some of those Jaguar rosters from a few years back. A team that could beat the hell out of you at the LOS, play you a solid game, but lose to most good teams. Not enough big play ability to score points against teams that were capable of doing so.

An occasional beat down would be placed when you didnt expect it by the Jags because they had the ability to punish people so brutally at the line. A lot of teams lost games the week after they played the Jags back then.

This is a similar team. Basically a 9 win team. Teams will hate playing us for sure. But, we simply dont have the players at the skill positions on offense or in the secondary on defense to win consistantly in todays NFL. I will break this down further in a get real thread soon.

You don't know what this team is capable of w/o them playing a game. Really can't based on previous years due to inept coaching.

i think this o could surprise some people and you never know what tanny might be capable of but we're gonna try and run this o with pedestrian wrs pretty much...we lack any real legit playmaker in that regard and there's no go to guy you can count on...you want to line up and throw the ball all over the field with average at best wrs???? good luck

the not blocking stuff is an excuse with egnew...he never blocked a paper bag in college he's not gonna block anyone in the pros...if miami drafted him with the idea of having him line up in line and block they made a mistake...its not gonna happen...that kid needs to be flexed out and let him run routes against lbs etc not trying to keep his qbs uni clean...

it's all excuses for this kid with his poor showing...golden opportunity coming up goose eggs

Well according to Philbins pressers, they are coaching him to put his hand in the dirt....so I think they are trying to round him off.

go ahead...pound that square peg into that round hole...

Thank goodness. Then my life can be complete.

Actually you're surprisingly high on this team. 9 wins?? Goodness, that must mean they're SB contenders.

Kheeston Randall listed on the 2nd team was good to see. He was a guy that flew under the radar during the 2011 College Football season. He's excellent against the run. I'm also happy for Javorski Lane, I remember him from 2010 at Texas A&M, he's solid at FB and already knows the offense.

Not in the doghouse. Just picked up a corner in Richard marshall who is being paid more, has more experience and has alot more Interceptions than Davis.

Jesus.

Im not gonna answer this. You make zero sense. Already told you how I felt on page 2.

I agree, but, you got to give the coaches another year to bring in more skill position talent. Building through the trenches has always been the way most teams are built. I have to admit this 2012 Draft and UDFA, class sure looks good in terms of becoming part of a new foundation moving forward under Philbin.

the problem i have with the building thru the trenches mentality is we've been building thru the trenches for the last 5 damn years already...

Way too much speculation at this point, man. They're installing new schemes on both sides of the ball, it remains to be seen how our current personnel respond to somewhat new roles. Yeah, we don't exactly look dynamic on offense, yet, but let's see what develops in the camp weeks remaining and preseason games. There are A LOT of question floating out there right now and we're bound to get lucky on a couple guys.

Defense should, SHOULD be good. Yeah, D-line looks good, but we'll see what happens at LB with the more traditional 4-3 in place. Should make them better?
Secondary was our weak point, and maybe still is, but maybe the coaching makes a difference back there and we've added something, plus another year of experience for young guys.

I'm trying to stay on the positive side for now, until I see live game action against players they don't see every day in practice.

Agreed, but BP did it by bringing in suspect NFL veterans with injury histories and wasted Millions of Dollars. Philbin at least gets the notion building through the Draft and UDFA market can at least reap benefits through teaching and hard work by the players less the headaches of the injury history or the big contract.

My response wasn't to you. Just giving my opnion when someone asked if davis is in dog house.

And you make zero sense if you think Marshall won't be in the starting line up after we gave him $6M.

I have nothing against Davis and think that he has done well here. But he hasn't done enough to keep him in a postion where he is untouchable.

Marshall has a better resume at this point of their careers.

Then he should of been brought in to compete with Smith. Davis has the same experience, 3 times the interceptions and get paid more. Fact is Davis had more int's last year than Smith has in his career.
