First OC Interview is Today

So will he be bringing the Eagles Chip Kelly style of offense? Will we finally see some of that up tempo exhaust other teams defense scheme that we were promised when Philbin was hired?

It's a common tactic teams use to circumvent the rules on who you're allowed to interview. The Eagles can't block him from interviewing for the head coaching job, so we're interviewing him for the job except not really. Then, if we want him and he wants to be here, the Eagles probably won't force him to stay, because you don't want to force people to stay in a job they don't want. But you never get to the point where he wants to come here if you can't talk to him.

For an assistant coaching position? If it was HC that would be different but the assistants should be on Philbin.

Dude, you need to read before you attack. Go back and read my other posts in this thread and see where I corrected myself

Nah, it was a typo on their part. They changed it to OC shortly after I posted the link.

Fot those who want the GM in place, non sense. There're 7 teams looking for coaches right now so we need to move fast. The GM will come soon enough.

Ozzy rules!!

I don't care about that.

You should. The reason Andy Dalton is a Bengal and not Colin Kaepernick is because Jay Gruden pushed for Dalton. Mike Brown actually wanted Kaepernick.

I just care if he can coach and get the most out of the talent that someone else gives him.

I would hope that if Shanahan came to our new GM and asked him to get a certain player for his offense, that that GM wouldn't just blindly take that player for him.

Washington had one nice year running an offense that didn't have much future. When they couldn't run the same stuff this year the entire O went in the toilet and he had no counter move. Shanahan also has a history of getting into it with his quarterbacks:

There has to be better options than a ******** son of a famous coach who really hasn't had that much of his own professional success.

Chris Mortensen just reported that Kyle Shanahan is on the radar for the Dolphins.

I'd love to get hoops' take on that move, but I actually think Shanahan could be a really solid hire.

Not sure how I feel about that. Shanahan did a nice job getting the OL to block in the ZBS to where they paved the way for Alfred Morris to have back-to-back 1200+ yard seasons but he seemed to stray from the WCO principles too much. I don't know how much of that was because of RGIII and how much of that was poor play design in the passing game. The O-line also gave up 43 sacks so while good in the run game not so good in the passing game and some of that falls on the OC.

It does seem strange interviewing for OC when you don't even have the NEW GM in place. It almost points to the new GM being nothing more than a puppet coming into the orginization.

That is incorrect. The Coordinators are usually up to the HC. The GM really doesn't give much input. Now if we would have fired Philbin and interviewed HCs I'd agree. The hiring of an HC is usually the GMs job and the HC brings his own people in.

if he comes here hope like hell he's not a product of that chip kelly system...about all i can say...that system makes people look pretty good...so far...i stress so far cause now the leagues got a years worth of tape to get ready for it...kinda like the read op destroyed people in 2012
