Florio: Dolphins have no shot at Manning

You think Bush to Faulk is the only stretch and Bush can be a Faulk like player? Come on. Bush isn't half the player Faulk was especially at that time which was Faulk's peak. As good as Brandon Marshall is he isn't as good as either Isaac Bruce or Torry Holt, you do have a great LT like they had though so there is one similarity. Where's the Az Hakim deep threat? where's the steady vert Ricky Proehl type? There's no comparison other than if you get Manning you'd have a future HOF QB and so did that team but Warner waas entering his peak while Manning is past his.

if you think Marshall isnt in the league holt or bruce is you ARE kidding yourself i promise you that, alot of stuff you are saying is DEAD WRONG and just as soon as peyton Dose sign with us your going to see what kind of team miami will be ,if our defence steps up this year like we all know they can , then i think we will have a very good chance to to take the AFC title away from NE and WILL beat the jets 2 times a year .

The chiefs have a boatload of cash to spend. Its really not that bad a situation to go to. In fact, you could make a point about KC being miles away from Indy.

but hey, let the actions speak. not this sell sell sell crap days before.
And if weather really is one of the deciding factors,it'll be cold as hell in KC....Last time I checked anyways!!!

That's nice but it wqas Bush's first 1,000 yd season and he had 1.086 yds that mostly came after the season was lost in meaningless games. Az Hakim had 8 rec TDs which was 2 more than Marshall, Marshall is a nice possession guy but he's not a playmaker like Holt or Bruce. You guys have talent, let's not go overboard and compare it to one of the best offenses in league history.

how many years did holt or bruce have 100 catches and if Bush would have got to play the whole year he would have alot more than he has .and as for clay, charles clay he is going to be a very special player very good hands and can get to the open holes on the field and our speedster rookie from last year mr. Gates he is only going to get better with a QB that can get him the ball , dont forget about wallace and moore they was doing really well when they was hit by injury s we dont know exactly HOW GOOD OF A TEAM MIAMI HAS UNTIL THEY HAVE A LEGIT QB THROWING THE BALL ,but imo peyton WILL have more than enough weapons to his exposure.

Talent wise Marshall is up there w/ anyone but Bruce and Holt were better than Brandon Marshall.

I am ok w/ Peyton signing w/ the dolphins. Again, he's old, injured and in his prime w/ much more talent around him only made 2 SBs and won one. To think the dolphins will go to the SB b/c they get Peyton is pretty funny and to compare to the '99 Rams is comical. Yes you'd be better, yeah you'd probably make the playoffs but Peyton in his prime struggled in January w/ more talent around him- what makes you think w/ a new team, new system, new players, older, coming off a year off and off a 3rd neck surgery that Peyton will take you to the SB?

Bruce had 119 once, 15 more than Marshall ever had and he did it averaging 15.9 yds per rec, in Marshall's 3 100+ rec seasons his best avg was 13.0. Holt had two 100+ rec seasons including 117 as a career high- 13 more than Marshall ever had and he averaged 14.5 per and scored 12 TDs. Brandon Marshall is an excellent possession WR, Bruce and Holt were big time playmakers.

from what ive been hearing about peyton he is improving everyday and all the hype about him not being able to throw the football was bull**** polian has said from the start that peyton has been throwing the ball very well , how do you see more talent in indy than here ? because gorcon ? nope . wayne ? nope clark ? maybe a case there defence ? nope our defence is better than what indy had/has faulk ? naaa bush is right there with him . the only thing i see that indy had an advantage was QB and TE ,other than that we are right there or better at the poss than they are/were. peyton fro every reliable source that peyton is coming along just fine and WILL BE STARTING 2012 SEASON, and as for his age ? peyton has atleast 3-4 very good years left in him. if anybody thinks diff, then there kidding themselves .

so you are baseing this on what 10 yards ? lol come on dude.

imo marshall did it 3 times to holts 2 ? so there could be an argument even if holt had 15 yards reciveing more in a season than marshall ,marshall did it 3 times so one could argue that marshall is the better WR ?

If this were true, Im honestly not sure whether its a good or a bad thing.
Makes me think it is a good thing (if) he really is looking at a one year superbowl wish. I would want his heart to be in it for 2-3 years. If not, let the new coach build his team a different way. We do tend to call bull, as soon as a reporter says something we don't want to hear. Can't wait for all the blab to be over and we know who is under center.

florio's comments are ridiculous on so many levels. let's look at this logically. if manning is healthy and ready to go and everybody knows it, there are going to be a lot of teams in the running for his services. why would he specifically need to work the dolphins somehow to drive up his price? it makes no sense. if he is healthy he is going to get his asking price from any number of teams. he is not going to be in a position where he needs to "use" one team to drive up the price. there will be plenty of bidders and he is going to be able to get what he wants.

That might not be true if at one time you had $28M in your eyes. A smart millionaire will do all he can to drive the price up even if just by 1/2 a Million.
