I don't buy that especially since we don't know how healthy he will be and if he can take hits. Any team he goes to will be much better than they were a year ago(or should be) but that's a big leap btw being better and a SB contender.

i would say 95% of the reports say his rehab is progressing just fine and he has plenty of time to get to 100%
as for taking a hit, in this league wit all the new laws, the qbs might as well be playing flag football. so hes no more at risk than any other qb.
 
I really hope our front office is disguising their true desires, and using Manning to drive down the Flynn price. That would be ideal to me, and makes sense. Assume for a second that Philbin says to Ireland that he totally believes that Flynn is the next great elite qb and he is willing to bet his job on that. He knows the offense,smooth transition, etc. Now, they can't even mention Flynn without tampering, plus they'd not want to tip their hand. So they leak info that Ross is all giggly excited about getting Manning, totally ignore Flynn, go through the motions once Manning's released, then pounce on Flynn as soon as free agency begins. Not even throw an offer at Manning.I really hope that is what's happening.

Because the alternative is that we are once again the transparent, desperate guy at the dance, saying Golly, sure would like to ask out the homecoming queen, only to have the popular guys laugh at our lame attempts, then proceed to make out with her in front of us... I hope we're not that guy....again.
 
The Phins have no shot??? I bet we bet we have a better shot at signing Manning than the Colts have at keeping Manning at $28 million and then also signing Luck. Florio is an azz.
 
Very few people know what Manning is thinking, fewer know where he is likely to end up.

Hell, I bet Manning himself doesn't even know where he will end up, so how does Florio know?
 
I don't know how Florio even has a job at this point. He really is clueless, and his reasoning for his opinions often resemble that of that casual sports fan guy at the water cooler trying to act like he knows more than he does.

The Chiefs have D and a HB pair Bowe with Wayne and yes I get it. Phins and Chiefs are on the same level so if we here think Manning to Phins = SB. Then for the Chiefs why the hell not? Even Caldwell made it to the SB just staring blankly while Manning did work, of course Crennel can follow that formula. If we want Manning over KC we need to guarantee more money. At that point I'd rather see us make the RG3 push if we end up bidding for 18.
