Bottom line? This isn’t an issue that should have been resolved on Friday. It should have been resolved in the first communication between the Dolphins and Fisher. And it’s yet another high-profile failure by Ross, whose best play at this point could be to sell the team.

Another debacle and now Miami will hire a loser as head coach. I expect Mangini.

how would florio know what or wasnt discussed. the decision could have been made right after the stl/fisher interview. the bigger question is why nbc pays florio to fantasize.

Won't be Mangini, not a chance. I am a little tired of hearing the media, especially guys like Mike Florio, take these shots at the Dolphins. The Dolphins didn't lose Fisher to the Rams, they basically rejected Fisher because they have a plan for the front office structure that Fisher wasn't onboard with.

As far as Mangina, no thanks I hope to holy hell not, but if by the remote chance we hired him, there's always the "...but, but..but Belicheat failed in Cleveland and look at him now..." (anomalies trumps rules) card to play similar to the one by those who defended Fisher's mediocrity. So there's always a silver lining. :up:

Does anyone else here agree with me that no matter what happened, the story this morning would be "Ross screws up again?"

You know that if we landed Fisher everyone would be slamming Ross for giving him total control and being 'fickle' and casting Ireland aside. And if we had simply broken off negotiations with Fisher and moved on, I'm sure Ross would be slammed for 'failing to try to get the best candidate on the market.'

Florio in particular has been fiercely critical of Dolphins management since Pat White got pushed out the door.

He is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He's also a West Virginia homer and a huge, huge Pat White fan. When Miami drafted Pat White, he was running multiple Pat White stories every week and declared that he was now a Dolphins fan. He even bought a jersey, IIRC. Then after that whole fiasco ended he just started ripping on the Dolphins, Ireland and Ross at every opportunity. It was very, very transparent to anyone who has been following PFT for a long time.
