    http://www.footballoutsiders.com/dvoa-ratings/2018/week-18-dvoa-ratings

    • CB Xavien Howard, MIA: 4 picks in December; Miami ranked third in DVOA against No. 1 wide receivers.
    • C Mike Pouncey, MIA: Miami RB led NFL with 63 percent success rate on runs up the middle in December (59 carries, 282 yards, 2 TD).

Glad X got some love. He played his *** off the last month of the season especially. Pouncey did that well eh? Or maybe some of that was due to Jesse Davis at RG? It only says runs 'up the middle' so who knows

I would say a lot of those yards came on a few plays where Drake avoided a player in the backfield and bounced it. Football Outsiders has our line ranked 30th in 'adjusted line yards.'

Hopefully Howard can build on this and we can finally have some continuity at CB, something we've been missing for a while now.

Howard is going to be so good next season.

If Tank can improve? Watch out.

This a big year for Tannehill. You may have to go all out to make sure the offense around him is set so you can make your qb decesion about the future. Due to that reasoning I would be ok if the draft was focused on the offense and maybe you filled in a few area of needs on defense via free agency for now.

Looks like we will cutting some salaries. I look at Jax and they really have had homeruns in FA on defense. I would like to see some money spent at least on a pass rusher and some olinemen

the way Miami's needs on offense are set, depending on Landry of course, if they went mostly offense in the draft they could still focus on positions of need and get some good players

No. TJ needs to be removed or switched to a nickel Lb and Miami needs to draft James.

Yeah i don’t think we were very good run blocking. It was especially noticeable when Ajayi was here still. We got better in pass protection. Had way too many penalties overall. Things to build on but more to improve on

For sure. Tank looked good for a third round pick. Those 2 might make a great combo in the future. Lippett back should be good depth. I think McCain has improved in the slot; but still want a little better- i think we have him next year still too, so no biggie. McTyer is a good athlete, i wonder if we can develop him down the road for that role.

Nah. Two SS back there isn’t the best. I’m starting to lean towards what phinatic8u said. Get James and then TJ can play more of a nickle lb role. Maybe that allows reshad to freelance more which is where he makes plays

wow...no love for Landry???....(sarcasm) ...Reading the posts of how he is the heart and soul (paraphrasing) of the team...seems like he should be getting some attention

2018 Phins are going to AFC Championship Game. IF:

    Fix LBs. Raekwon plus one

Right tackle and one guard - I’m buying that Gase’s scheme can make them better than they are.

We keep Landry or DVP finally steps up.

    Acquire a serviceable TE

I’m all in on Tannehill. He makes the Pro Bowl and maybe second team All Pro.

Drake made a lot happen on his own. How many times did he have to make a guy miss almost immediately after taking the handoff. I can't sign off on saying Pouncey was a plus.

The line will get better when Pouncey is no longer its "leader," and preferably not in the building either.

Xavien Howard is going to be a big player for us next season and beyond. Love that guy at corner and the performance he had against the Pats a few weeks ago was incredible. Very good season from him. Pouncey wasn't that good though he gives up way too many penalties.

Kenyan Drake should be getting more recognition. A lot was put on his shoulders after we traded off Ajayi and then Williams got injured. Drake stepped up and made some big plays for us this season.

The recognition given to X should say something to our FO, get them young, get them hungry, continue to build through the draft, set your foundation first and then add pieces through FA.
On Pouncey........A little surprise by that, but maybe I overlooked some good play by him this season.

Really happy for X that he could get this recognication after a few good games played and about 10 other terrible ones.

Dolphins moving up in the world! Next year we may actually draft a pro bowl player!

In order to have a good run game you need a good push up front. Getting a good push up front means you need power. Power and push for OL come from the hips. Pouncey has a degenerative hip condition. I acknowledge Pouncey for what he has done here, but it's time to move on.

I've wanted a stud DE or LB at 11 because DE is so important to our D, especially pass rush and LB we are just berefit of talent...hopefully McMillian improves that with a healthy return living up to expectations. Having said that, I think that a safety that can match up against TEs, has the range and ball skills to prey in centerfield and provide solid tackling as last line of D could be a huge impact to our D. This is especially true if Burke could be creative with 3 safety packages. If James is there at 11, I think I'll be rooting for him to be the pick.

I'm not a Pouncey but Gase has said he played well and now Football Outsiders. To me he played 'OK' but not up to his cost. And his hip is a matter of time

It's really hard to grade Pouncey. When you look at his individual play in a vacuum hes a really good player. But for whatever reason the team doesn't seem to miss a beat when he's gone.

This is exactly my point.. Coaches know more than us.. They watch film all the time. You guys hate Pouncey because he is a drive killer with his penalties (False start & Holding). He is the most talented OL in Miami.. Definitely not Tunsil

I know what i see when i watch games. You think the coaches decisions on who to play are always right and effective? I don't. J Thomas sucked as did many of the oline over the last two seasons. I think loyalty comes into play and we can do much better with a different center. Just my opinion but i don't have blind loyalty.
