For all the Henne Haters, Doubters, and Boo Birds

i posted in another thread a list of our 3rd round draft picks since 01. i cant recall all the names but i know it includes morlon greenwod, travis minor, wade smith taylor whitley, channing crowder, kendall langford, and john jerry. im not talking about talented players who have been picked in the 3rd round but players our team has drafted in the last decade. i dont see how anyone can tell me after watching chad henne play in any game (except the jets mnf game ill give him that) that giving up a pick for orton is a bad move? Langford is a very solid player for us, but look at that list and tell me how valuable our 3rd round picks have been for us.

Its been reported they want at least a second round pick tho. . . and some outlets are saying a second rd pick plus another pick. . . NOT to mention Orton wants to be paid around 9 milion a year. . . add that all together and no he isn't worth anything in that realm. Frankly i thank Ireland for not subjecting a fan base that has been through so much to yet another average quarterback Acquisition at a kings ransom price.

Had we won 11 games last season and made the playoffs I'd still be hoping to get rid of him.

Dude is a scrub.

maybe so but you wouldnt want to add another average at best quarterback at a 2nd round value plus 9 million a year

So it doesn't make sense to be a fan and try to encourage or show support to team and players on the team?
Booing is an affective way to make the best of a not so good QB situation?
Not like there is a lot of QB options out there worth anything right now anyway.
We've all been frustrated since Marino left; and I thought for sure we'd have a new starter this year, but Booing anybody besides the opposing team, refs or coaches is just lame to me though. Like I said in another thread...Henne did not appoint himself starter or draft himself to this team. He is doing his best and that's all he can do...if his best isn't good enough, that's the FO problem to solve. Some people just don't have "it" no matter how hard they try...no sense degrading him over it if that's the case.
Henne didn't parade around like some I'm all that diva saying make me starter. Suck it up and support him...and if he doesn't improve this year again with all the changes in place then we boo the FO if they don't go get us a QB next year. (again)

im not saying i disagree, the price may be to steep, but if they believe this team is ready to compete for the playoffs, which it would appear the front office has proven by adding burnett and bush, why spend a year with a lame duck qb and essentially waste a year of everyones career.

They obviously agree with you as well tho. They attempted to get the guy they thought would be an upgrade. Problem is at what price. They worked hard for two days straight of negotiating to try to make it happen but when you really want a new car but its priced 30,000$ higher than you were expecting to pay well its hard to pull the trigger. As much as i dont like having henne be our best option fact is he was our only option. Hopefully Orton and the Broncos come down from their high horse soon but at 2nd round/9 million dollars a year the deal was simply undoable

Front office has shown us that that's all they're going to sign and draft anyway so, yeah, I would.

Until they go out and get us a franchise QB, all we can do and hope for is an average at best QB and a lot of luck. Right now we have a bottom of the barrel QB and a lot of talent and skill everywhere else.

im curious what cap number they would be comfortable with in regards to ortons annual salary.

for the record
I dont believe in Henne i just also dont believe in calling out your starting QB in the first padded practice after the longest workstoppage in NFL history and day 3 of installing a new offense when our only hope ride on his shoulders this year. . . as sad and frustrating as it is, our best chance is to hope against probability and almost certainty that he can improve enough to allow us to win a few more games this season than last.

And the beauty of a forum like this is that it's a great place to, amongst ourselves, show our frustrations, anger, disappointment....as well as elation when called for. =)
Great outlet...

Fans have had enough, man. Time to move forward.

We aren't winning anything with Henne at QB. Look around the league. Stud QB's are doing work in the playoffs and Super Bowls.

Need to rally behind the team; not players.

Get us a legit QB.

Who wants to win football games?

You don't know that. How can you know that? Some of you act like Henne didn't have a OC named Dan Henning calling plays for him last year.

I have no idea what is going to happen, neither do you, but the way some of you try and re-write the history of Henne by constantly never mentioning Dan Henning is simply amazing to me.

I'm all for it the very first day of practice.

You're applying pressure to the front office EARLY. You're not waiting.

Front office recognizes the displeasure from the fan base a full month before the season begins. They know the fans are going to be rabid like this from the very first game. They can still make a move before the season begins to take some of the pressure off. They understand that booing the QB in practice will trickle down to everyone else on the team. It's no secret these players don't have a lot of confidence in Henne and there are numerous reports that Henne is not the leader on the field that you need from a QB.

I say Denver folds and we're right back in it for Orton at a fourth round pick.

exactly. . idk its just not right in my opinion to be sooooo upset about hennes play to call him out during our first practice. . . we need team continuity and we need the players to rally behind whoever our QB is we dont need to be supporting the thoughts of mutiny on the first night before training camp even really begins and the offense is given a chance to put in their new system

what if your wrong is my point. . . what if Denver isnt bluffing and is demanding nothing less than a second and your Booing and creating that Trickle own effect? Well now you have a divided lockeroom and no hope for a good season . . .talk about wasting all these talented players time. . . a whole season down the drain.
