For financial reasons shouldnt we go after a free agent quarterback instead of Drafting one in 06 especially since we know the type of money that must be spent on a player taken in the top 10. Now I am not saying we will be one of the worst 10 teams next year but if we wanted a quarterback we would probably trade up. What do you guys think is the most beneficial to the team all personal feelings aside. Free Agent or Top 10 in next years draft?

Good question however only time will tell us which option best suits the Fins.

Uncle Wayne can afford to spend some.

he does have a valid point. We will have trouble with the salary cap and we cant really afford another big contract. If we wanted to get a rookie quarterback then we may have to trade ricky williams

I knew that was coming...

If we are picking out of the top 10 we should be able to afford anyone...With some creative cap management we should be fine anyway...It's so far away that it's hard to say where the QB's will be on the draft board at this stage.

Understand QB is not the only position we will need to adress next year. Secondary and O-Line will need to be addressed as well as our aging defense

Good point...

It's possible that we could trade down for some extra picks and pick up a QB later in the draft than the 1st round...My point basically...We have to wait and see how things shake out with the QB's and where they fall on everyone's boards before predicting what we'll do.

I would kind of lean toward building the offensive line in the draft, unless someone like Leinart or Jacobs literally falls into Miami's lap. Right now, any qb is going to struggle behind this offensive line.

The way the line has played to this point yes....But these guys have 16 games to improve and gel as a unit...It's way too early to leave them for dead just yet dontcha' think?

Well, the only way we get a Drew Brees or Phillip Rivers is if we cough up a 1st rounder anyway.

So, what's the difference??
