For financial reasons.

How can anyone watch the preseason play of our Qbs and wonder whether or not we need to spend the money on one? Theres no question that truly talented Qbs get paid big money, whether its a top notch freeagent or a highly touted rookie. The Qb position is #1 top priority in the offseason, theres not even a close second. We'll be fine with some smart cap management. Good teams get good players and sign them to smart contracts.

Sometimes you dont...

(FIX THE O-LINE) - Look at Smith in SF, no O-line = demotion. Brees 3 years ago, NO-OLINE= almost got traded.

FIX THE LINE!

It is possible that by the end of the season the line will be playing well so why not wait and see how they do....We have to wait and see anyway so no point in getting ahead of ourselves on the draft just yet.

For financial reasons shouldnt we go after a free agent quarterback instead of Drafting one in 06 especially since we know the type of money that must be spent on a player taken in the top 10. Now I am not saying we will be one of the worst 10 teams next year but if we wanted a quarterback we would probably trade up. What do you guys think is the most beneficial to the team all personal feelings aside. Free Agent or Top 10 in next years draft?

I dont want to spend the money on a top 10 pick next year...High draft picks always seem like gold.... But there is a major chance they wont work out.

Agreed here. Very few people get the fact that if the Oline doesn't get fixed it won't matter if we got Peyton Manning. They'll be killed behind this line.

Even though the total output of dollars would probably be higher, the cap hit is generally less with rookies...not to mention the fact that you'll have some idea of how a FA qb will do, but much less of an idea of a rookie qb...either way, we will be getting a qb next year...
