For those so quick to start the Ireland, hicky debate. ..

When all is said and done, I think Ireland was more or less a .500 GM. Much better than his reputation -you'd think he was Matt Millen from hearing some people talk- but not good enough. The biggest problem with Ireland always seemed to be he'd fix one thing and break another one. This year we're in a perfect position to do more of the same, with so many FAs. We'll see how Hickey handles it. It's not such a slam-dunk, in my opinion.

For now, the Albert and Grimes signings seem positive, but Delmas and the other guy seem like lateral moves at best. A bit like our LB moves last year. Of course, the way things turned out we can only wish our LB changes had truly been lateral moves.

Not stating my like or favoritism for Ireland, but some people out there want to start keeping a "Good move" count but lets not forget alot of the current players (i.e. Wake, hartline, olivior vernon, hell Tannehill for gods sake. The really talented makeup of our roster that hicky inherets.

Signing Brandon Albert from KC was huge. Honestly if Tannehill gets sacked 30 x as oppose to 58 from last year,we make the pplayoffs. I firmly believe that. They have the talent on both sides of the ball. Oline, RB & corner opposite grimes and this team wont have to worry about a must win situation. Week 17 To make playoffs. They already clinch a playoff spot, or win division.

Point is, dont downplay the significant moves that Ireland is responsible for and what hicky is coming into a way better situan than Ireland did in 2007. 2008 miami won the division. Enough said

The reason he is unemployed is because he could never build a good offensive line. He is unemployed because of his failures for that.

There's a debate? Blindfolded drunk chimpanzees throwing darts at names randomly placed on the wall have had better drafts than Ireland!

Forgot Pouncey and Grimes and Wallace.

8 out of 53 aint bad.

We were one win away from the playoffs in spite of Ireland, not because of him. His LB moves alone cost us the playoffs.....not to mention that crap heep of an offensive line. Jeff Ireland sucked!

That's a bunch of crap. He did plenty good to go along with the plenty bad. He was just a favorite whipping boy of fans and media, that's all. It's blatantly absurd to say that the guy who got us one step away from the playoffs is the worst in the league.

Know the thing about being 1 step away from the playoffs? Your not in the playoffs.

That earning a playoff berth is considered a high achievement is telling about how ****ty a job he did. People got used to being terrible. After 6 years on the job, Ireland should have had this team competing for Superbowls. Instead, he had 5 non-winning seasons. He was atrocious.

Jeff Ireland plain and simple was one of the worst GMs in recent history.
What a absolute loser he was!!!

Atrocious GMs leave their team in shambles after six years. Ireland left us in pretty good shape. Would you rather have the GM who drafted Gabbert, Ponder, Locker or Mark S.? Would you rather have the GM who traded a #1 for Trent Richardson and gave a big contract to Erik Walden? For all the talk of overpaying, would you rather be the cap-strapped team that needs to restructure deals year in and year out just to stay in the same place? When Tannehill starts connecting with Wallace, does Ireland at least get a nod?

The simple truth is that every single GM/QB/HC that leaves Miami is the worst ever. Every time. Even if they have rings. And the new guy is always the savior. It's typical overreaction. Not reflection, emotional reaction. I'm not going to try to fight against that, but it's so predictable.

First GM to get us into the playoffs........WINS

regardless of how bad ireland was, there's no need to rush to judgement on hickey. he hasnt done anything yet.

I don't see a huge difference between them yet. They both like to spend lots of money on shiny new things. I could easily see Albert being next years Wallace. While our cap is good this year if we don't start infusing young cheap talent through the draft the cap is going to catch up with us.

"Is your Mother a prostitute".. enough said on the Ireland matter after that... The guy lacked professionalism and class, and were done here :)

over blown.
bryant said 'my dads a pimp'
ireland 'whats your mom do'
bryant 'works for my dad'
ireland 'so your moms a prostitute?'

in the context of the conversation, it's not as bad as people are saying. Bryant practically lead him to that conclusion.

Overblow>.... lol Kid, read what you wrote ?? "ireland 'so your moms a prostitute?' and NOW WERE done here.... :)
