Forget blaming Wanny how about????

I hear you, but what team doesn't have 10 to 12 guys who are potential cuts. I don't know, I think we have better talent and coaching than we did in 2003.

Why not expect an 8, 9 or even 10 win season?

Strength of schedule is overrated because of the 180s that teams have been doing in the league the past few years.

Maybe I'm stupid, but I just don't see where we are that bad off.
Its not who's getting cut that opens your eyes.... it sthe number of draft picks from the Wanny era that remain on this team... just 5 of over 30 picks. That's hard to overcome dude!

Yea were going to be bad this year.
Why are we going to be bad? Because of last year?

Ok, so how about when we were 10-6 2 years ago. How do you explain going 4-12 the following year, since most predictions hinge on the previous season's performance?

I blame Shula.....He should have went up to Huizenga's office and btchslappd him when he was considering changing coaches.:goof:

One game!!!!!! That is how many games we had no chace of winning in the 4th qtr. That means we were less than 15 min's away from winning every game but the NYJ game.

If you add offense to help keep the D off the field and put some points up we should win half of those games. W/ only 7 of the 15 games, that makes a team 11-5. Not saying we will be that good, just it is not to far off if you look at it on a game by game basis of last year. It is not like we were whipping boys' last year. We were competitive. We beat the best team in the league.

I think just having Nick Saban will give us a win or two. A whole new energy is throughout our team, and right now they believe they can beat anyone. Just imagine how solid the Dolphins defense could be if we could give them a breather. Or if our offense didn't throw pick six's. Our running game, and Linehan's new offense could spark a whole lotta life in this club, and quickly. I'm not a firm believer in that it takes "x" amount of years to rebuild a franchise. I'm not saying lookout Super Bowl either, but we are headed in the right direction...and fast.

Typical Dolfan hungover from the Dumbstadt era. Jimmy Johnson ultimately screwed us by vouching for his idiotic friend Dumbo, but he was not nearly the destructive influence that dumbstadt was. But your pessimism is epidemic on this site. The NFL does not work that way anymore. This team will be in the race for the AFC East this year - right now. Nicky baby nicky!

Have a nice year and see you in the offseason! No point for you to watch the season now.

I'll be there watching I'm just being realistic. What harm is in that. I just know there will be a long rebuilding stage. I'll support my team as always.

I have a question for you "realistic" people. What is your in-game demeanor? If we score during the first quarter are you like "oh well it's only the first quarter, the other team is a very good team and can realistically come back." And, if we win, are you like "well its only the first game, i still dont think we'll make the playoffs because we are a bad team"? Or is it "oh we got lucky, you are still the better team than us".
Are you thinking about next year's draft as we are trying to lead a fourth quarter comeback in a huge game?

Oh well, at least it preserves your voice, right?

I am starting to agree with ohall that there are dolphin fans and dolphin critics.

our next franchise qb will be brees or rivers in 2006!!!! this team will contend this season.aj needs to be cut now!!!!!! gus will start this season but backup next.sage will be gone in o6 but berlin will be a fin for a few years.this team needs a qb it has since dannyboy left everyone knows that........it will come from san diego!!!!

Well you can believe want you want. I am a Dolphin fan not a critic. I do and will speak the truth of my feelings whether they agree or disagree with the majority. Anyone who knows me knows my love and passion for the Dolphins. Believe me when I say I get my ba**s broken every chance that arises I live in the heart of Eagle country. At any time I could change my colors but I am a Dolphin fan I've been one for 30 years. I cannot stand the eagle organization and for that I get my stones broken all the time. So to call me a critic and not a real Dolphin fan is ridiculous just because I don't see things through aqua and orange sunglasses. Maybe 5 years is a little long but, how many times has this team ripped up the league untill December and just crashed. Maybe it's just to many rollercoaster rides and I am taking a conservitive approach. To many what ifs right now but, by no means am I saying that this team will not rebound because I know they will.

In today's day and age of the NFL and equality, I don't think it takes that long. Sure in 2-3 years we should be a dominant force. But with a little luck (which is truly what puts teams over the top), We could definately suprise a lot of people.
And with Saban we will have the leadership, discipline and mental toughness to always be in the position to take advantage of the lucky breaks.

I don't know where our next QB will come from next year, but I will agree with you that this team needs a qb first everything else second if we are to contend this year or 5 years from now.

It's not doom and gloom... its realism... read this post to give you an idea of where this team is conidering its talent depth....

Realism is a virtue adopted by those who anticipate failure. We're fans, not stockmarket analysts. Our job is to have fun and nurture the hope that on each Sunday our team will treat us to a bounty of excitement. Now, enough of the psycho-babble stuff.

Finacious D hit it on the head fellas. It goes against deductive reasoning that a team can go from 10-6 to 4-12, and without losing anything, rather gaining, not have the gate swing the other way. Pessimistic narrow minded views IMO. How many times do you nay-sayers need to see an NFL team go from "crap" to "king" in one season to understand that today's NFL is not your father's NFL. The idea that it would take 5 freaking years, or even more than one, to turn a franchise arouund nowadays is devoid of objective reasoning and nothing short of stupid...plain and simple short-bus mentality. He!!, even the expansion teams have show the ability to get their act together faster than the 3-5 year cycle you trolls keep whining about. And I'm not just being a homer here either. Nope. Ask any of the other "real" football fans on this board, including the Bills and Pats fans, and they'll tell you the same thing. The Fins had a bad year, that's it! They're reloading their barrels and taking aim.
