And how exactly is Matt Moore supposed to feel today? Guy comes off the bench to lead the Dolphins to six wins in their final nine games, finishes the year ranked 12th in the league in quarterback rating — right between Philip Rivers and Jay Cutler — and somehow he’s still part of the problem?
“We need a quarterback that can lead us over the hump,” Miami Dolphins General Manager Jeff Ireland said Tuesday at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
I can’t argue the Dolphins’ continued need for a franchise-type quarterback, but Moore still showed he’s good enough to lead a playoff-caliber team after he stepped in. That team just has to make sure it doesn’t start 0-7. Even if the Dolphins mortgage their future to draft Robert Griffin III, Moore still figures to open 2012 as this team’s starter. And that’s not the worst thing in the world.

To complete our trilogy of Dan Marino’s comments on the Dolphins’ three most likely quarterback targets, here’s what No. 13 said about Peyton Manning this week on his weekly WQAM show:

“Everybody loves Peyton Manning, come on,” Marino said. “The question mark is his health. If he’s healthy, I’m sure he really would like to continue to play in Indianapolis. He’s had his whole career there. That’s where his kids have grown up and the whole thing, but you never know. You never know.”

“He has a relationship with the franchise there [in Indianapolis],” Marino told host Joe Rose. “Just in my opinion, they’re going to do the right thing by him, whatever it is. To let him go, to sign him on. Whatever Peyton would like to do under the circumstances, I’m sure they’re going to help him in that process, whatever that may be.”

Moore is the starter if you draft a QB.

However, Miami is only drafting a QB if they can't land Manning or Flynn.

Moore isn't winning us a Super Bowl. No way no how.

Marino is wrong all the people who would supported Peyton were shoved out the back door - Peyton will land on which ever team he wants to go - but the Irsay family has bid in off when they took his GM and coach away. The Colts and the team he built are no longer his - the town he elevated and spends so much of time and money in will never forget him but Irsay has moved on to Luck - and who would say different in public or secret is GONE

Yeah, um ...

Moore went 6-6 this year.

'Nuff said.

Let's be fair. The defense had a lot to do with those wins...and losses.
Moore is the best QB we have had since Penny. Better than Ferrotte, and Fiedler, and Huard IMHO.
We all want to upgrade the position, but elite QB's only come along every few years as we all know.
We can win with him, but still search still goes on for the elusive "franchise QB".

Like I said before in several posts. If peyton is signed, Moore has every right to demand a trade. He isn't worth a high pick because he has little or no upside, but there will be plenty of interest and he is worth a low 3rd or early 4th IMO. Even a 5th and 6th would be decent compensation for a top tier #2 or a stop gap starter; which is what he is in my opinion.

I agree with Dan. I've been saying all along that if Manning is healthy he will be a Colt next year. If he's let go I'd be very wary about picking him up because, IMO, if that happens he's still hurt.

I can appreciate what Moore did. He come into a really bad situation and did he best and won 6 game. But the guy isnt who you build the team around long term and that is what the is all about.

If it weren't for COLUMBO, MOORE, by my count, would have won 4 more games: DALLAS, DENVER, NY GIANTS, and N.E.. And MIAMI would've won at least one more (CLEVELAND). And the reason for those 4 of MOORE's losses, plain and simple, was COLUMBO. As for MOORE, he earned a 10-2 record: only the DOLPHINS' Dufus Squad (SPARANO/COLUMBO) stopped it! Not the opposition, mind you! Just the "Dufus Squad".

MOORE's performance was TOPSHELF. I mean, 10-2 ain't too shabby, for a QB who was acquired LATE in a shortened preseason, and got nothing but "back-up QB's reps" until HENNE went down. AND YET, MOORE showed us things that we hadn't seen in a dog's age: accuracy, touch passes (remember the "circle" routes to R BUSH?) , deep pass completions, mobility, and leadership.

Well, at least the Dufus-In-Chief (SPARANO, the OL "guru") is gone, and it looks like the Actual Perpetrator (COLUMBO) is sure to go.

If they sign Peyton or Flynn they will be the starter...which kinda sucks for Matt Moore..Maybe we could trade him and get something? My point is that I would hope that Moore is allowed to compete with someone that comes in..But it wont happen unless its someone else besides the two above....I like Moore alot right now because of his fire...He seemed upset when things were not going his way and when **** was not going smooothly....Henne was not like that..He didnt care. That was his problem...too ho hum at times...Manning has that fire. I am not sure about flynn.

As for MOORE, he earned a 10-2 record
Unfortunately the NFL doesn't recognize mental manipulation to determine the final result which is Matt Moore was 6-6 while the QB.

The logic you try and imply can be used by any of the other 31 teams.
