Former Dolphins scout threatening to sue the team after contract not renewed

How in the **** can you be a "scout" while being planted at home? Look up the definition of the word. That would like a truck driver demanding he be allowed to work from home....

LOL. I was thinking of a teacher that could not go to school, but wanted to stay home and correct papers and send the notes in via email.

How did this guy survive that many regimes.

another person who sucked at his job looking to cash in.

IN all fairness to CanDolphin and those who like facts, this scout was simply reviewing game film and filing a report. It's not like he was an advance scout looking at college recruits on campus.

Did you people even READ the link?

And as for this

Again, the author did you the service of giving you the exact statute they are using. Would it kill people to READ A GODDAMN ONE PAGE ARTICLE BEFORE JUMPING TO MEGA CONCLUSIONS?

They were starting to pull benefits specifically related to the illness this man's wife from suffering from (allegedly, important to note!) and if found to be true, then this absolutely violates the ADA.

I mean, sweet christ, even YOUR VERY LINK HAS A Q&A AT THE BOTTOM WITH THIS VERY QUESTION

Am I saying he is 100% correct in his allegations? Absolutely not. But my god people how is this considered a discussion board when you won't even put in the time to read what is being discussed? That's like breaking down gamefilm with a broken tv. Please please PLEASE put some effort into this board.

The Dolphins didnt pull it from their plan anymore than every single Damn insurance company across america. You can Blame ObamaCare for that, my health insurance tripled this year thanks to him. If anyone should be sued for this particular purpose it would be the Government.

And the way I see it, he has worked 17 years and produced what? If a new GM wants different scouts, so what? Its a right to work state anyway, Life sucks sometimes, man up and get a new job and stop F#$king with the judicial system like every other cheap bastard who has a sense of entitlement from everyone who makes more than them. I hate this polical BS

I think the biggest crime here is the price of those medications.

On a serious note I would like the team to say we'll keep your wife covered on the insurance and pay for her meds, but as a scout you're no longer needed.

Did you really read? Hickey fired him because the remote status didn't work for what he wanted. Not discriminating anything about health insurance that's made up by his lawyer. Idk about you but if I'm working from home because a new boss said I could but then I get a new boss who doesnt allow it. Im out of the job. The health claim seems bogus under the new laws you have to cover any health ailment

So, like online classes?

Well we've been pretty ****ty for the past 17 years. I'm sorry for the struggles the guy must go through, but it seems like his home situation may have allowed him to escape accountability over all this time. Good for Hickey to evaluate the situation and not be afraid of litigation, the fear of which is probably what kept all the other GMs from doing this.

CanDolphin did say he wasn't agreeing with the suits claim, just taking offense with people commenting without reading the link... which I admit I didn't do until after his post.

guy gets fired by the new gm, gets buthurt. Who would have guessed?

If Hickey wants certain things from his scouts he should be allowed it, if he fails with picks its on his head not Ireland or Spielmans.

Absolutely, just as long as he does not violate the Americans with Disabilities Act while he is doing it.

Sounds like the team was doing more than that for TEN years.

I don't know all of the details here, but if a scout is unable to travel and actually scout players in person, uh, that would make it pretty much impossible to do the job, wouldn't it?

Yes…of course, because the majority of classes given to children are online. Give me a break.

There are online courses for children, particularly those with...wait for it...disabilities.
