I’m stunned this wasn’t like…25 million dollars more.
If you told me he would get less than they gave Rousseau I’d have laughed at you. I understand the positional difference but Rousseau is a decent young Edge and Benford is a great young corner. Hes closer to elite than Rousseau is to very good.
This just isn’t the number or slotting I expected to see from a young true #1 who grades out the way Benford does.

Smart to extend him after just 3 seasons. I wish Grier was more proactive in extending homegrown talent.
Finding top-notch starters in the 6th is like manna from heaven. After his rookie season, you wouldn't have foreseen it necessarily, but he began to blossom in season 2 and even more last season. His rookie season was very close to Storm Duck's rookie season. Ideally, one would like to see Duck take a similar leap forward in 2025.

One thing to remember is that some players will sign early to get the safe money, and some won't. To place all of the praise or blame on the GM is just too easy... and mostly wrong.
Sieler was willing to sign, Wilkins was not. that's how it goes sometimes.

The Dolphins have 8, if you count UDFAs Kohou and Duck as starters.
