Free Agency Breaking News- NFL - Breaking News Thread 2025 Offseason

He’s not very good correct?
He gets his hands on the ball quite often. 16 PBUs last season. 7 career picks in 21 starts and 4 were pick 6's.
Champ Kelly was the Raiders' interim GM when they claimed him off waivers. I hope we sign him.

Guns, airport
Charges were dropped. Doesn't that make it as if he never did what he was charged with?
It's not like he has a record of abusing women.
In 2018, he also had a second-degree misdemeanor. Served his sentence of 45 days house arrest. Done his time.
Considering he is a playmaker and we are thin on veteran CB talent, it would not stop me from signing him.

Want no part of this guy, vet minimum or not. He's been in trouble everywhere he's gone and his completion % against him was terrible last year to boot.
I mean... one of his arrests was burglarizing a Panda Express. Thats more funny than illegal!

When Watsons contract is over, there are doubts if any other team will sign him even for 3rd string...so probably his career is over the day hes released from the Browns. They have to wait another year cause of the cap hit, hes probably gonna miss most of 2025 anyways from the Achilles and hes had multiple tears.

What an unmitigated disaster, that would have set us back even further had we traded for him like so many on this board wanted back then.

They charged him with a second-degree misdemeanor for that. Sounds more like he got hungry. lol
I won't swear to this... but I think I read that he gave up 10 TDs last year? I mean, I don't watch raider games... but if that's true... umm...

PFR has him with 16 PBUs tied for 5th most last season, but PFF has him with 10, tied for 10th most. He allowed 10 TDs in 647 coverage snaps in 2024, according to PFF, tied for most with Cam Taylor-Britt, but 8 according to PFR, which tied for most with Gardner-Johnson and Dee Alford. But in the two years prior, he allowed 2 in 583. The passer rating when targeted in 2024 was 115.8, but in the two years prior, it was 63.1 and 68.1. He has 7 career ints with 4 returned for TDs.

I know we are a bit desperate but not sure with his background, recent production and being cut from the Raiders adds up.

They probably wanted a 7th rounder for him and couldn't get it.

His 2025 Salary Cap Charge was $3,406,000 before he got waived, and a team trading for him or claiming him would inherit that, but I'm guessing any contract he gets now as a street free agent would be less.
