Frerotte play by play analysis

I think the problem is that nobody is claiming that Gus is great. It's just that AJ is much worse. It seems that the AJ supporters can't see how bad AJ is. They hold out hope for improvement based on nothing more than a strong arm. Nobody is claiming that Gus is going to be a superstar, but it is becoming more obvious to even the most casual observers that AJ has no feel.

Feeley has a real NFL arm and a peewee league football presence and brain, I don't think he is worth the money were paying him. Cut him and our loses now! Sage and Brock can back up Ferrotte just as well for muc less Ca$h....

+1
Also seems Feeley lacks the ability to MOVE away from pressure.

Frerrotte was throwing the ball away alot even though it did not look like it. He was overthrowing the sidelined stuff while the one over the middle was way over the head of the reciever. What I see is a guy who is probably not trying to make mistakes and take what a defense will give him. When it all comes together with Ricky and Ronnie things will change. Frerrotte is defenitely in control and IMO, Sage is becoming better than Feeley.

Ok I did a completely unbiased play by play of Gus Frerotte. Noting some of his outstanding plays and his horrible plays.

After reading how some of you say he looks poised on the deep ball, looks better in the pocket and how he is so much better then Feeley I had to move it here. I originally posted it on the ESPN site.

Now this is not to say that Feeley or Frerotte is better. This is simply fact nothing more nothing less. The facts show that in less time Feeley was more productive with the 1st string offense then Frerotte was. He was more accurate and moved the chains though the air more. Frerotte moved the chains once through passing and the only scoring drive was all Ricky none of Frerotte. Here it is

Ok so far I will be as harsh on Frerotte as some of u are on Feeley.

Good first play nice play action for a couple yard gain.

Horrible play action. First he completely aligator armed the PA FAKE making it plain as day it was a fake and Deon Grant before Frerotte turned to roll to the left Grant was already heading that way. So horrible fake. The pass I won't touch. He threw to far outside, but you can't blame him for not making an accurate throw on that.

3rd play- Where is this amazing pocket pressence everyone including myself talked about it. 4 defenders got their hands on him and he still didn't step up.

LOL

This is how ridiculous some of you critiscized Feeley. So I will harshly critique him the rest of the game like some do Feeley.

ok second drive.

2nd AND 6- Nice pass to Chambers. Perfectly thrown. However from the moment of the snap he locked right onto Chambers.

Next pass play. The long one to Chambers. It was yet another half hearted play fake, however it was a beautifully throw pass. It really was. It would have hit Chambers in stride. It was just a great play by the defender.

Next pass play 3rd and 8- Horribly overthrown and almost picked off.

After 2 drives he has been horribly ineffective and hasn't moved the chains. Yet to get a 1st down.

At this point last week Feeley had already gotten 2 1st downs with a nice mid range pass.

ok I will update after the 3rd drive lol

ok 3rd drive

1st and 10 nicely executed reverse by Chambers and Frerotte an 11 yard gain.

1st and 10- HB TOss to Ricky right for 5 yards.
2nd and 5- WOW NICE PLAY BY FREROTTE. He eludes the rush and steps up. Makes a high but nice throw to Chambers. He gets leveled ball knocks lose, on the ground Chambers reaches up and catches the ball. Great play by frerotte and CHambers

1st and 10- Very nice play action left. This time delayed the rush. Rolled out once again overthrew his target. Like I said he overthrew alot last week on the deep balls.

2nd and 10- Ricky runs for 7 yards. Excellent Blocking.

3rd and 3- Horrible play by Frerotte. Frerotte rolls out right and neglects to correctly read Gilbert who immediately hit Ricky for a 1 yard loss. It was a shovel pass.

OK now it's a punt cya next drive lol

By the way Feeley had more passing yards on his 1st attempt then Frerotte has so far.

I would also like to add that it is obvious Linehan is calling a more passer friendly plan both last week and tonight with Frerotte then with Feeley just making a note.

4th drive

1st and 10- LOL ANOTHER HORRIBLY OVERTHROWN pass to McMichaels

2nd and 10- NICE RUN BY RICKY- He runs, stutters to get lost behind defenders then runs left for 9 yards.

3rd and 1- Pitch to Ricky- Defender has him stopped. Makes a juke move picks up 10 yards does another juke to elude a defender. Picks up about 18 yards.

Ricky looks great so far. 4 rushes for 34 yards.

LOL Like I said those of you critiscizing his 5 carries for 8 yards need to just recognize and let the preseason play out lol.

1st and 10- on the 36. Surprise surprise Chambers is wide open and Frerotte overthrows the pass again would have been a TD if thrown right.

2nd and 10- Morris for a 3 yard gain.

3rd and 7- Ok nice actually perfect pass to Welker for a 14 yard gain, however illegal formation and play is called back- Nice pass by Frerotte

3rd and 12- Nice pass he checked off to Morris and Morris does a superman over his defender to get the 1st. Gain of 13

1st and 10- Ricky up middle for 3 yards.

2nd and 7- Half step drop quick and nice pass to Boston. 7 yard gain.

Oh yeah, commentator are praising Ricky right now lol.

1st and 10- Rikcy up middle for 2 yards.

2nd and 8- LOL. Horrible pass. Frerotte thought he could throw it through 2 defenders. Only problem there was no WR there. Should have been intercepted.

3rd and 8 on the 11- GOOD GOD. Welker has a step on his DB in the end zone and Frerotte throws to far to the sideline missing his 4th opportunity for a big play.

Mare 21 yard FG. 7-3 Jaguars

Funny how you dont mention down and distance on the first drive were a penalty by Seth hurt us and then blame Gus for not moving the chains.

"3rd and 3- Horrible play by Frerotte. Frerotte rolls out right and neglects to correctly read Gilbert who immediately hit Ricky for a 1 yard loss. It was a shovel pass."

Your mastery of football amazes me. You cant read a shovel pass it is a designed play with no other option. He has to dump that off or lay down and take a sack.

"3rd and 8 on the 11- GOOD GOD. Welker has a step on his DB in the end zone and Frerotte throws to far to the sideline missing his 4th opportunity for a big play."

Welker was cover by a glove. Good try though.

"2nd and 8- LOL. Horrible pass. Frerotte thought he could throw it through 2 defenders. Only problem there was no WR there. Should have been intercepted."

Linebacker makes a great play on the ball and BARELY tips it away otherwise it is a TD to Gilmore who beat his man.

whats your take on frerotte's tendency to take at least one horrible sack per game. I dont know what to make of that. its not the normal type of sack thats bang bang a quick burst through the line and theres nothing you can do. he seems each game to take this one glacier speed slow rolling sack where you end up wondering why he didnt just step up? I dont recall if he had that problem at minnesota? did he have that problem there?

First off your saying Feeley doesnt take horrible sacks????? Yeah reality check bro. And ill also take a sack on gus over forcing a pick six as we all know AJ loves to do.

REAL ANALYSIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny on how the very first play it was a compliment for Frerotte. NEXT!!!

Your mastery of football now does not amaze me. Frerotte was out of the pocket and should have thrown the ball away! NEXT!!!!!

Umm, no Welker was not covered by a glove. He had a step on his man. Actually I am watching that play again as we speak. Oh but nice try.

Linebacker does not make a great play. There were 2 defenders standing right there in the lane didn't even really move. By the way I am currently watching this play as I write right now. Gilbert just happened to be the lucky man who Frerotte hit. Secondly with how far Gilmore was from the pass the pass would have hit the ground.

NEXT, and this time please someone who either watched the game or has it taped rebuttle me.

I love how you critiscize me for the first set of downs that we wnet 3 and out on considering the very first words out of my mouth on his analysis was a compliment

I am so tired of this:yell: also we have just about nothing in Feeley money wise this year there is no money to get back in fact his contract doesnt bump up until next year so enough of the cut him for cap room garbage there isnt any cap room to gain!

Oh yeah SAGE SUCKS he will never be anything but a wet dream in this leauge and all of you who think he is good need to join his fan club as thats the only support eh will ever get, he makes one nice play to chambers against ravens last year and is annoited god yet he stunk up the rest fo the game like no other!

oh yeah nice 41 rating for that game

There is no suchj thing as throwing the ball away on a shovel pass. Sorry doesnt happen ever. If you did dvr the game place go back and watch the play the LB makes and see where the ball would have gone had he not gotten his fingers on it. You said the reason for a 3 and out was he couldnt move the chain when in fact it was a Seth penalty that screwed us. Have it on DVR and have watched is exstensively and objectively(something you havent).

Which drive with Seth are you talking about. Oh are u talking about the first drive. Let me refresh your memory. Get you head out of your a@$ and actually pay attention. Even withou tthe penalty Frerotte never gained 10 yards. He got his 1st 2 first downs on a nice rollout of eluding the pass rush and then a nice throw and an amazing catch by Chambers on the 2nd drive. His other was off of a reverse.
This is from the game cast recap of his play by play. From NFL, Unbiased just lists the play by play. I think someone needs to go home and learn how to watch TV. Even the commentators were laughing at Frerotte for making the throw to the LB'ERS. I am done talking to you, it is clear u can't handle the facts when they show you that Frerotte indeed sucked just like Feeley has.

1-10-MIA35(13:22) G.Frerotte pass to S.Morris to MIA 41 for 6 yards (M.Peterson; S.Starks).2-4-MIA41(12:48) S.Morris up the middle to MIA 41 for no gain (M.Peterson; D.Darius).
PENALTY on MIA-S.McKinney, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at MIA 41 - No Play.2-14-MIA31(12:35) G.Frerotte pass incomplete to C.Chambers.3-14-MIA31(12:29) (Shotgun) G.Frerotte sacked at MIA 23 for -8 yards (M.Stroud).4-22-MIA23

(12:08) M.Turk punts 53 yards to JAX 24, Center-E.Perry. D.Allen for 76 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

So your saying that 3 and 14 is just as easy to complete as 3 and 4......you my friend should be coaching in Pitt with Wanny.

I was unaware that we would not save much by cutting him this year. What you should be tired of, is having a third string QB being talked about as our starter. I find it hard to believe that no cap room would be gained by cutting Feeley, but I'll take your word for it. Don't be surprised if he gets cut anyway, his trade value is zero.
