Friday Buzz: Pouncey starting right guard for much of practice

I like the move for now. We definitely need another guard or two or a cent next year but Satale is easily among our best 5 this year. I don't think much of him as a center but definitely better than playing a guard that shouldn't be starting.

After what Benton has accomplished so far, I would be good with him putting Philbin at RG. lol

Mike Pouncey is one of our team leaders. So...yeah.
 
I try and be as open minded as possible, so I am going to reserve judgment on the Shelby. Im not going to assume that he even made a mistake that led to his arrest. It was reported that he exhibited negative behaviors that led to his arrest, but we do not know the circumstances of each action yet. If we are going to judge him without him being able to defend himself, should we just trash the court system altogether? If he admits guilt of the events, then that would suffice for me. Why does an employer feel the need to punish its employees as if the actions of the employee represent the company. If the Walmart CEO drives drunk, should we all assume that it was company policy to do so? If an employer should lay punishment, then why not his church? His doctor and dentist should join in as well and not treat him. Maybe the city should turn off his utilities because by continuing to provide him electricity and water would just say that the city condones and supports his behavior. I dont know what else to say about this. Some minds cant be changed I guess, but at some point any of us may be in the same position and think about what type of justice you will expect.

Im not going to go all overboard on Benton as of yet. Will see how line plays out over a season. Too often we say one thing after week 4 and later in year things look much different. The line has definitely been better this year so far,
 
Whether it is or was Philbin and or Ireland or Hickey - I'm still pissed that Martin was allowed to play the victim and goldbrick through the rest of the season with pay, appearing at college games like a reigning royal princess instead of being suspended for team desertion and actions detrimental to it. So in that respect I agree that there was inconsistency and preferential treatment in juxtaposition to convenient scapegoating. Likewise I have condemned whoever was responsible for the PC-pandering suspension of Don Jones for an honest peripheral twitter reaction to the league's contrived dog & pony draft show. So there I condemn those Knee-jerkers decision to suspend Jones as an overreaction to The Martin Charade.

Benton has been a damn good oline coach since his Houston days.

You shouldn't need more games, he's had years of service to look at.

Their hands were tied the second Incognito left that message on his answering machine. If it weren't for that evidence Incognito never would have been suspended and Martin would not have gotten another penny.

As far as Jones goes I think you are on the same page as me in believing the league was working behind the scenes to make sure that Sam both got drafted and signed to a NFL team, had those things not happened the league would look terrible, even despite all of the other things that have made them look terrible lately. In fact, the Ray Rice drama may have become a welcomed distraction at that point. I can almost guarantee Goodell ordered the Jones suspension. Did he even lose any money?
