Fritz Pollard Alliance: Ray Farmer "mulling over" 2nd interview

Because if Farmer turns us down after consistent being considered a front runner, that will be like the 6th candidate to turn us down. And this was a guy who had genuine interest to begin with, otherwise he wouldn't have interviewed the first time. If he turns down a 2nd interview opportunity when he is the front runner for the job, that must mean that the Dolphins have some major internal problems. Not that we didn't already know that...

Ross' tenure here is starting to sound like a Dylan song...

"How many times must a man get turned down, before he begins to understand..."

Bases on 'sources'. If I want to make headlines I write "Based on sources...." until someone asks "who are these sources". But nobody does. So this "based on sources...." becomes a 'validation' tool for rumors. Nobody from the Dolphins has made a statement who they prefer or who the front runner is.

if he doesnt know if he wants the job, we dont want him. our organization is a mess so i can understand why someone wouldnt want to come here. he needs to sell the team to mark cuban.

The biggest issue with the Dolphins organizational structure is the fact that you have several people with big egos and similar power levels reporting to a man that is never around and has a low football IQ. That's a recipe for dysfunction.

Again, if he wants to stay where he is that is his right. The rest is nothing more than conjecture on your part. It may be right, more than likely it is very wrong seeing as how he already interviewed for the job!

The media does what it does, because there are ppl out there like you. You appear to constantly forget what the media is all about and what their intentions are. They feed it because some ppl will always eat it up!

I am not even sure what you are trying to say.

Yup, I am just a gullible guppy eating up whatever the media sends my way!

I already said I don't buy this report, but IF it ends up coming true, it would speak to a clear problem in the organization.

Aren't you the same guy who thinks Fox News is a beacon of journalistic integrity?

It's beyond me how anyone gives this organization the benefit of the doubt after the cluster of massive screwups over the years.

And they won't. So if you want you can hide under a rock until they officially announce it or you can join in the Reading of the Tea Leaves like the rest of us.

I think the point here is that he might not be sure what the job is.

If he is hinting he may not want to have a 2nd interview, than just move on and tell Farmer we don't want him. Just promote Gaine or Aponte.

Maybe... just maybe... Farmer is mulling over a 2nd interview because he isn't the front runner.

Could be, but that would mean that after this whole dog and pony show, the front runner is the guy already on staff? You mean to tell me of all the candidates that were out there, the best guy for the job is the guy that was under Ireland all these years?

The way this is going we might end up with the run of the littler....lol

Ozzy rules!!

I see the usual suspects are here.

Walrus I really doubt its an issue of confusion.
No one would make a move like that over confusion.

There is something in the language of our GM role that he doesn't like or more accurately his benefactor Wooten who runs a managment course doesn't like. It is a power play to get that language changed before they sit down.

I just don't see how anyone can spin this as a positive for the dolphins, if true. I mean, a guy with a realistic shot at doubling his salary and dramatically inproving his career prospects doesn't just turn the opportunity down for no reason

Who Cares>>>>does anyone on this board really know anything about these guys? I understand players and coaches, you have game film and wins and losses to look at but when your talking about GM candidates how do you judge them? Unless you know the responsibility they had at the prior job, how much input they had on the draft and free agency and their ideas on running a franchise, wishing for one of these guys is fruitless....just sit back wait for one to get hired and lets see what he has......

No I'm not saying it's the guy already on staff. I'm not saying one way or the other. It could be a name no one has even mentioned yet. Hypothetically speaking.

We don't know for sure what's going on. Everyone is guessing. We assume Farmer is the favorite. Maybe he isn't. Maybe he is. Maybe JLC is full of **** again.

I'm just saying. It opens the door to anyone being our GM. Hypothetically.
